The topic of hell is almost always brought up by universlaists, as is the case in this thread. Has a ur said they dear hell? Has anyone said they do? If no one has said it, then why do you claim anyone fears it. If I say the darnest things, then so do you. That's according to your own logic. You don't have to spell it out, when your obsession proves it.

As far as us dicussing it, it's like this. If my father's name was plastered all over the media saying he was a serial killer or torturer, I probably wouldn't be able to "stop talking about it" for very long. Why? Because I would want the truth to be known. I would want my father's name cleared. I would want everyone to know what a good person he is and to love him like I do. I would not want them to fear him. Does that clear anything up for you at all, Finn?
|
I cleared it up for you on the other thread with the example of a kid who runs around town telling everyone his father is a judge who never puts anyone to prison. When people heard this news about the soft judge, they were encouraged to commit crime and they ended up in front of the very judge, who sent them to prison. When they ask the kid why he spread the rumor about the judge, the kid says "my father is such a nice and loving man that he would never send anyone to prison".
You, my friend, are that kid.

One might argue that being obsessed with something you don't believe exists, is the darnest thing you ever heard, yet we see it here every day.

You, on the other hand, have admitted you don't know what your father is capable of - maybe He's a murderer - maybe He's a torturer. Who knows? You seem to just be glad that you believe He won't do any of that to you.

If someone was to say they believe in God to save themselves from the punishment at judgment, then their belief in God is in vain. God looks at our hearts and knows if our faith is real. We can't fool God.
We are to put our faith, trust and salvation in God's hands because we believe what the Bible says about each and every one of us. We are born into sin from Adam and Eve's disobedience to God, that the wages of this sin is death, and the only way for that sin debt to be paid, and to overcome sin and death, is to believe that God loved us all so much that he sent his Son Jesus to be the one time sacrifice for our sins.
For believers in Him our debt is paid in full. Our sins will not be recorded. Now when God looks at us, (those saved, who believe this), God only sees us through Jesus. We are covered in his blood, clothed in His righteousness. In the Bible where God says, "I never knew you", he is talking about those who have not believed in Him through His Son Jesus and what He did for us on the cross, and his overcoming death and sin by His resurrection.
Our sin is the main issue, not hell. Unrepented sins are like cancer. They will eat our flesh and our soil. Hell is the result.

This too is one of the d*****t things I have ever heard,it's your obsession of it,which is always being questioned.
while I'm at it,the scripture tells us that man Is in fear of death, not once does it say man was or is in fear of eternal death, eternal torment, being burned eternally,or being cast into a lake of fire,he simply feared death.

I don't know what you are talking about, but yes, I am very happy to be on the palm of my Father. I would not want to be anywhere else.

False accusations about the character of God does exist, so you're missing the point again.

I should have capitalized Father. You said you don't know if hell is a literal fire or some other awful punishment that will last forever. That's what I'm talking about. You don't have an opinion or belief about what God is capable of, which means you don't know what the character of God is.
