If you asking can God who is Spirit talk to us without opening His bible ? Yes.

After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.

I knew the comforter before I ever knew what english words to use to name it. YES you can know the holy spirit without the bible. The bible is a good tool with words used to describe the things that people often already know in their heart.

Christians managed without the Bible for almost 400 years. (If you put that in a modern perspective, if you just received the first Bible made, the folks landing on Plymouth Rock would be the first Christians.) And even after it was canonized, most folks were illiterate, anyways AND the Bible was hand written and VERY expensive, so the folks only heard scripture read to them at Church. And since the Church grew quickly despite the fact that early Christians were martyred demonstrates the active role of the Holy Spirit in Jesus' Church.

And yes, the early Christians were Catholics.

Folks, take Tony's scripture quotes with a grain of salt.

Here's the fiirst John 6:63:
63 It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

Tony's take: The Holy Spirit don't speak to nobody without the bible

Ah, Sola Scriptura strikes again. Not to mention, Tony needs to rebuke his English teachers for forsaking him.

Folks, Jesus didn't write a single word on a piece of paper. The "words that I have spoken" refers to the WORDS that He SPOKE and thus first became Sacred Tradition, not Sacred Scripture. Grant it, some, and I mean some, of Jesus's words did make it to the New Testament, but certainly for 60 to 100 years, not a single word from Jesus was on a piece of paper. And then from the hundreds of writings and letters, the Catholic Church deliberated on which of these writings were inspired and worthy of canonization based on the writings authenticity and it's consistency with Sacred Tradition, aka word of the Lord, which of course was passed down through time through the spoken word.

2 Thessalonians 3:6 - Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is living in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us.

John 21:25 - But there are also many other things which Jesus did; were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

How come Adam and Eve never had a bible ? At least they could have studied all about God and then made the right choice and not listened to a talking snake. They could have said it is written, or get behind me Satan, or rebuked him. Why did God wait to give man a bible ?

Did God forget to create in man the ability for him to know His will which is done in heaven ,so He gave us the bible to compensate for it ?. I'm glad He did because I love reading.
