I am a Christian and I am being slandered online. I want to legally change my name. Is this a lack of faith? and am I blotting out my own name from the book of life? Will Jesus say, "He never knew me," if I go by a different name? I know this might sound silly to some of you--but I am serious. My life has been destroyed by the slander and lies told about me. Is this just God's will and I am supposed to endure it? I have just recently come back from backsliding--is this desire to change my own name an indicator that my name is already blotted out? I know of two instances where Jesus changed the surnames of his followers, with Peter and with James and John. So is it ok to change my name or not? Thanks for your answer.

Good and bad things happen to all of us,
their is more than one god/goddess some are good some are a little more bad than others, and some gods are plain wicked.
Trust your heart to lead you and she will let the love shine down,
in times of adversity we rarely percieve the good things we are blessed with and usually in that moment our concern is only with the bad.

Ask your self:
What am I thankful for, memories, the present, and the possible future all these things we can be thankful for, as any thing that doesn't kill us will only serve to make our will stronger in the end.

May love and peace be with you always,
In the name of Asherah the rightful Queen of Heaven, I say so let it be written, so let it transpire.
Love is not a lie, neither is hate, but "hate will never cease by hate only love can do that, for this is an old rule." - Buddha

Ha?

My Lord is the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and He loves you so much that He shed His precious blood for you (the wages of sin is death and requires a blood covering...that is what He did for you on the cross...shed His own blood so that you could be acceptable in the sight of a Holy God. He rose from the dead and is now sitting on the right hand of the Father in heaven. He is waiting to hear from you. Just talk to Him...say, Lord, if you are the real God, please reveal this to me. Thank you for taking the time to try to comfort and guide me, that is very kind. May you know the love of Jesus Christ of Nazareth--He is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, and He alone is worthy of all power, honor, and glory. I will be praying for you. Amen.

PS I have done nothing in hate. I just want to be left alone. I am being stalked by a malignant narcissist. (NPD)

Jesus says He is the way the truth and the life and noone comes to the Father but by Him. That is the only thing that is written that will count when you stand before the throne. Nothing difficult or confusing about that.

Jesus is the source of love and the Prince of Peace.

Now, Christians, if you are out there, is it ok to legally change my name?

Heb 10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, Heb 10:27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Heb 10:28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.Heb 10:29 How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Note that this text cites several examples of the Israelites from the OT that fell away.
1Co 10:11 These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.1Co 10:12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you donít fall!

Jn 15:2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
Jn 15:6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

Note Paul's warning here to the Christians in Rome.
Ro 8:12 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligationóbut it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.Ro 8:13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,

Also note Jesus explanation to the parable of the sower.
Lk 8:13 Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.

There are many more references, but I don't want to hear your arguments and rationalizations in an attempt to deny the clear words of God. This should be more than sufficient to make the point. Yes, there are texts that indicate God's help in remaining faithful, and the Bible makes clear that God's power is beyond Satan's so that Satan cannot snatch us out of God's hand, which is certainly true, but that doesn't mean that Christians cannot ignore God and walk away from him. That would be a denial of man's free will.

Lastly I should add there are other indications from the Bible that one's name can be deleted from the Book of Life.
Ex 32:33 The LORD replied to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against me I will blot out of my book.

Finally, from Ezekiel:
Eze 18:24 "But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked man does, will he live? None of the righteous things he has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness he is guilty of and because of the sins he has committed, he will die.
So, why didn't King David die?...

If that was the case, it would make no sense that a name of a saved person would be erased.

How about it being a list of the Elect that HaShem will regenerate throughout time according to His will?...

Do you think by changing your name that you can hide from HaShem and trick Him?...

Thank you once again for this God given post !!

I just don't understand how some can continue too deny the scripture you've presented that teach and warn that most definitely people have in their life for whatever reason, choose to turn away from the salvation of our Lord God and His promises to those who believe.

And those using or justifying the excuse they never believed in the first place, that is those who consciously chose to walk away from the faith that our Lord God filled their heart with. People just can not fake faith....

What I have experienced that majority of the cases I have seen or read about that have it was not an overnight, all of a sudden change in their heart. Usually it is a process of slowly turning away through doubt, an unbelief some where hiding in their heart causing a trust issue, being emotionally hurt through people or the church.

And yes there is the love of sin and that can be greater then their love for God and turn away.

The deception of sin and its temptation can whisper deeply in the heart saying you can't overcome ? whatever it may be, weakening their faith and their trusting God. It could possibly be a lust that one has struggled with for a long time and they hear the voice of the sin, satan, "God will not forgive, you've blown it to many times..... taunting their spirit however it can to give up and throw in the towel, so to speak.
There is nothing worse then hearing God doesn't love or can forgive you because
something in your life has such a hold on you and that sin vexing your life causing the sin to overcome you, your flesh wins out, rather then you being able through Christ to overcome the temptation and come out from under it that one may bear it through our Lord Jesus Christ. That the emotion is so beaten up causing one to just give up and walk away....from it all. That is how deceitful sin can be !!!

Blessings

Yes as women do all the time when they get married. That is a legal issue not a Biblical one. The name that can be blotted out is not simply a name given or changed, etc, it encompasses the person. Changing your name if it was blotted out doesn't get the new name in.
