I would say that in 6,000 years +/- that Hell or the concept thereof would have been mentioned...So, I wonder why...

Sin is lawlessness. If you don't know right from wrong, how can you sin? What sin can a baby possibly commit?

And how do you explain the clear words of God when He says we do not inherit the sins of our parents? That is the thread question. How do you reconcile that scripture with the doctrine of original sin?

I'm not sure how much clearer Paul could have been in Rom. 5:12, it's stated very straight forward.

"Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all men, because all sinned."

All sinned means everyone from Adam to present, and even until the Eternal State all have sinned. We sinned in Adam, even as Levi gave tithes to Melkizedek through his father Abraham. Levi never tithed a cent to him, yet it's very clear that Scriptures state that through Abraham he did! The same is for our sin. Even when we are born we have sinned through Adam. It's inherited, and this is very clear in Romans 5. Not only is Adam's sin imputed to us, but by Grace Christ's Righteousness is imputed to us.

All sinned. Everyone, including 'innocent' babies, has sinned through Adam. It's hard to accept that, but it's very easy to understand that 'all sinned' from Romans 5:12. If they hadn't sinned, they would not die as death is the penalty of sin. But, since babies do die, it's proof that they have sinned though Adam. They may not have 'personal' sin to their account, but they do have Adam's sin to their account, and as such they inherit the curse of death.

We inherit Adam's sin unto condemnation. All die because of his sin, because all inherit his sin. Everyone born of mankind has Adam's sin, Paul is very clear about that. We all die because of Adam's imputed sin to his progeny, it's were man gets his condemnation. We do not inherit Adam's discipline for his sin. We each receive that for our personal sin, though our descendants may inherit our curse as in the case of Jeconiah curse, none of his descendants can claim David's throne. So in the case of Jecniah, his descendants do inherit the sins of their fathers, so what do we do with Ezek. 18:20 now?

We cannot inherit Death through Adam unless we also inherit Sin through Adam because death is through sin. This is why 'innocent' (only in the eyes of man) babies die, they have their father Adam's sin. This is man's condemnation, not personal sins that are committed, but Adam's.

In Christ,
Matthew
