There is an old church next to my place_ It is the Orthodox Christian Church of Ethiopia...I would safely say that they might be older than ROME - or the Coptic Christians of EGYPT..may also be older - as for ROME - Christ dispised the occupying Romans in Judea...as for Peter having the keys and "on you Peter the rock I will build my church" - to para phrase - It never made sense that Jesus who headed the corporation - would hand over the executive keys to a man (Peter) who betrayed and denied him - not once but three times - I would never have trusted such a fellow...After Jesus left - his brother JAMES was the head of the church - It was said that Paul - assisted in ousting James the brother of Jesus from the position - also - the Catholic Church breached the contract....eg - "sell your property and put the money in a common purse..and let those come and take as needed" - The Vatican took 10% for over 1500 years...just try going to the steps of the Vatican and say you need a mortgage payment- you are not going to get it.........they took and put it in a public purse - but they never sent anything back to the donors in need.

You are very ignrant of how finances and charitable giving works in the Catholic Church. Here is an article from 1987 that helps explains it, and not much has changed since then: COVER STORY THE VATICAN'S FINANCES This venerable institution, its bureaucracy swollen and its image hurt by scandal, is strapped for cash. Pope John Paul II is pressing his cardinals to find a solution. - December 21, 1987#
