When a person dresses up in special clothing, has his title before his name, and probably speaks to the same people every week about God i would say that he is still religious. But i do understand where he is coming from.

Why is religion foreign to you?

Lack of exposure/

Prior bad experience?

Lack of familiarity?

Fundamentalist?

Simple anti-catholicism?

However, religion will always be a guess. And a guess is wrong most of the time.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. If you are referring to the practice of 'religion' by a variety of institutions, you may be partially correct --- although most Christian churches are pretty clearly based on the Bible.

If you are elevating it higher and talking about a personal relationship between God and man, ... nothing could be less of a 'guess' and more certain. (But, for those who do not have or comprehend such a relationship; yes, I suppose it is somewhat of a 'guess')
