Jesus isn't speaking of something that is light as in weight but the light of the Lord which is righteous and upright.
Matthew;
"In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets. "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it".
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. They persecuted the prophets before you the same way.

The yoke of Christ is like unto being a servant as the ox is but unlike the yoke of an ox the yoke of God is light because although we might have sorrow at times, Peace, Joy and Love are its only other weight on the Spirit. "Good News" indeed! Yes, Jesus said, "In the world you shall have tribulation but be of good cheer because I have overcome the world."
The way is narrow and difficult because you can not live like the world which has invented many ways to do evil. You will be mocked and excluded from their company because you stand for the truth but rejoice when they do because your name is written in Heaven.
