It's not advised to drink large amounts of wine because when drunk people often do things that are forbidden.
Good summary. Also, wine will be consumed in God's Kingdom when Jesus reigns as King.

I should add that wine should be used in communion, not grape juice. Grape juice is a mockery of a Holy sacrament..

IS IT OK TO DRINK WINE ?

Before we can answer let us first look and see if there are scriptures to answer this question from The Word Of God in the bible. As it is written in First Timothy 5:23: Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. This is a statement Paul wrote to Timothy to give him instructions on how to take care of stomach problems and he also called it often infirmities, ( meaning weakness and sick conditions, possibly having even more than one )

Let us look at the wedding where Jesus had the beginning of his first miracles by turning water into wine. John 2:1-11; And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: ( but the servants which drew the water knew ) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Notice the governor of the feast said; Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

Now let us look and see just what good wine is.

Luke 5:37-39And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, the old is better.

These people knew that old wine was not only good, but it was also the best wine. Also old wine is aged and has alcohol in it. Even New Wine Has Alcohol In It.

Older wine just has a better flavor, but the Alcohol is the same in both ! ! !

Here are some scriptures that warn not to be using to much wine at one time.

Ephesians 5:18; And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

First Timothy :3:8; Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

Titus :2:3; The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

Notice that none of these verses say that you can not drink any wine. They do say that we are not to be drunk, wherein is excess (drinking to much). Also not to be given to much wine ( meaning not having control of how much a person has to drink for himself ).

To preach that it is sin and against The Will Of God to drink wine is false doctrine. No where in the New Testament does it teach that a person can not drink wine. The Holy Word Of God teaches us not to be drunk, by drinking to much wine.

Someone may ask how does one know if they have had enough to drink ?

According The Bible, God's children have the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, direct, teach, and to bring us into remembrance of all things Holy. The Holy Spirit will show a person when they have had enough to drink. Also every person is different. Some people may be able to drink more than others, and not get drunk. Some may not be able to drink at all. No where does the bible ( in the New Testament ) say that a person has to drink wine.

For those who have a problem with drinking, and not being able to control their drinking and getting drunk, Godly wisdom would be to not drink at all. This would be between God and that person.

The Answer to the Question: IS IT OK TO DRINK WINE ?

I believe according to what the Word Of God Teaches the answer is ( YES ) it is ok to drink wine ! ! !

But it is ( never ok ) to be drunk by drinking to much ! ! !

Wine is most proper for sickly and weak people, whose stomachs are often out of order, and who labour under infirmities.

Bible says: Give strong drink to him that is ready to perish, and wine to those that are of heavy hearts, Prov. 31:6. Wine should also be used as a help, and not a hindrance, to our work and usefulness.

Many doctrines of many denominations are the teachings of men and not of God.

These false teachings have been handed down from
generation to generation and cause confusion among people.

The teaching that it is a sin to drink anything with alcohol in it ( including wine )
comes from preachers who had drinking problems, and felt it is better not to drink wine
at all because a person might drink to much and get drunk.

Changing the meaning of scriptures to avoid getting drunk
because of there lack of there own control is not The Will Of God Our Holy Father.

Any doctrine that The Lord did not command is
False Doctrine of men and does not have to be followed.
