Like kawg I also thought of the song I Can Only Imagine. Probably I will feel like Peter did when he had eye contact with Jesus after denying three times. Peter cried and felt so ashamed. Thinking of the times I denied Him by not speaking up when I should have.
I think when Jesus looks at the world he feels sadness at the ones who refuse to believe and joy at the ones to are obedient and faithful to what He has called them to do.

I've thought about this often, and it's funny that my idea seems to change each time. Probably based upon the condition of me at the time.
I think the whole idea is incredible!
I imagine ( today ) that when I look right into the eyes of JESUS, I will see a reflection of all creation and every soul that has ever existed, and I will be confronted with my relationship, or actions to every soul.
JESUS will smile, He'll laugh, He'll cry, HE'll frown. But I will know LOVE perfectly.

What a great thread. Thanks for reviving it, TheWordisOne. For me, I imagine eyes of infinite and unconditional love, love that bears all things. Eyes that pierce each soul, can see what is inside all of us without saying a word, eyes that emit what is true and real,. His eyes emit strength and power, courage, and mercy all at the same time.
