After Jesus had healed Bartimaeus, how in one sense ,is this symbolic of what should be the experience of everyone who has experienced the saving power of Christ in their lives?

It is funny that you should bring up this story, as our worship pastor just talked about this yesterday.

He was telling the story about how the crowd tried to hush Bartimaeus when he was calling out for Jesus. But Bartimaeus would not be quiet...he shouted even louder. Then Jesus came over to him. That was his first point - Jesus didn't make the blind man stumble around trying to find him, He responded to the cry and came to him. Jesus will also do the same for us. He's not going to hide from us while we blindly stumble around seeking him.

Then, Jesus healed him. Can you imagine seeing the sky and trees and people for the very first time? These were things that he had touched or heard about, but could never experience for himself. Then, as an adult, he can suddenly see. Do you think he was just calmly looking around taking it all in? Not a chance! He had to be jumping and exclaiming over everything he saw, praising Jesus for making this change in his life!

We should approach worship in this way. Hold nothing back and praise Jesus for everything He has done in our lives.

well, blind bartimaeus HEARD Jesus was there since he couldn't see him and sometimes we need to hear change coming. let he that hath and ear hear what the Spirit is saying to the church. we may not always see our help but sometimes hearing it draw nigh is all we need to act on it. bartimaeus didn't wait for Jesus to call him but he call Jesus. truth is that sometimes we need to see with our ears, and hear with our eyes.

I think that blind Bartimaeus had heard about Jesus and knew that He had the power to heal. He had the faith I believe, because God gave him this faith to believe. He understood that Jesus was the One who could help him. He may not have had physical sight, but He saw who Jesus was. And after Jesus healed him, he followed Jesus. So I believe that we must realize who has saved us and healed us, give Him all the praise and credit for His salvation/healing. Like Bartimaeus we are to follow the Lord in our lives. God bless.
