Really, What is tolerance? Accepting others beliefs as relivant even when the go against God? Accepting lifestyles which go against God? Accepting murder as birthcontrol? Is it tolerance or justification of immorality, justification of sin? There is no justification without Christ yet we are surrounded by false teachers who spread their false doctrines as if they are equal to or superior to the one true faith of Christianity. The tolerance of today is merely the immoral demanding acceptance while faining subjugation and being intolerant of the truth.

Lord Jesus will honor the tolerances of different doctrines... as long as these doctrines do not cross the boundary of obedience to the ways which salvation in Christ is dictated by Heaven , or if ministries are of the greater critics of Lord Jesus then salvations can be held back ..... Where as if ministries are lower critics of Jesus Christ then blessing of Christ can be held back as there would be no faith , or Jesus would honor intolerances which he would not give blessings that are rejected by lower critics, but salvation would be still held up as doctrines for salvations these believers would still believe ...... Jesus honor the tolerances of His believers and will not cross the line and give them blessings that they do not believe , and Jesus knows His believer very good .....Even believers in the church believe in Gifts of Holy Spirit which the lead Pastor would reject and ridicule people for believing them , were believer within the church would be persecuted in their heart have gifts the lead Pastor would not tolerate, and would use these gifts behind the lead Pastor back or go and change churches .....

To me tolerance means to realize that people are going to have different views, lifestyles, understandings, and we do not have to accept them. We can all share our faith without demeaning or putting others down. I think that it means that we can communicate what we may disagree with the realization that all may be at different growing stages, have different backgrounds, have different factors which contribute to our beliefs or understanding, lifestyles, and so on. God bless and peace.

Well stated! We live in a time when worldly labels like 'narrow-minded, intolerant and inflexible' become more important to some people than God's call to 'faithfulness, truth and uncompromised discipleship.' On the Christian forum, it is not uncommon for people to even characterize the God of the Bible as 'vengeful or angry', in light of their own concepts of what they think a God of Love "should/would do" -- We are living in a day when many will no longer endure sound doctrine --- This is not the time to get 'mushy-headed' in the face of worldly demands to accept immorality and sin.

Question: What is tolerance?

Answer: Definition of TOLERANCE (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)

1: capacity to endure pain or hardship : endurance, fortitude, stamina

2a : sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one's own b : the act of allowing something : toleration

(When in doubt about the meaning of a word, look it up in the dictionary).

Very well spoken and true!

The above by far is not tolerance, as it is "justification of immorality & justification of sin" as mentioned by Robin.

Think as tolerance as "Forbearance, Patience, or even Longsuffering," God our Father has ample amounts of this to go around....hahaha.

I had a co-worker who was offended because she felt that she was being "tolerated" instead of being embraced.

God bless and peace.

So based on man's dictionary definition of 'tolerance', would you consider God tolerant or intolerant?

John 3:35-36 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. 36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

For me tolerance is the ability to see beyond something that might not be acceptable to you. How do you reach people otherwise without being in judgement of them ?

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance? Romans 2:4
