All this week there has been gathering of people of Faith throuhout the country on the anniversity of dropping Atomic Bombs on Japan.

Matthew’s Gospel: ‘Why do you harbor such evil in your hearts?’ (Matthew 9:4) In our prayer and reflection together, and in our nonviolent public witness, we will seek to remove the evil in our own hearts and confront and resist the evil that has lead the U.S. to become a nuclear empire.

In Washington D.C.:

August 5: Gather @ 6:30 p.m. at Stephen and the Incarnation Church, 1525 Newton St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20010. At 7:00 p.m. we will meet in the sanctuary for a theme reflection, action preparation, video of the aftermath of the atomic bombings and prayer. Pick-up food will be offered.

August 6 (Anniversary of the U.S. nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and the feast of the Transfiguation): Nonviolent witness at the Pentagon and Udvar Hazy Museum where the Enola Gay is displayed. Times to be decided at the August 5 gathering.

August 9 (Anniversary of the U.S. nuclear bombing of Nagasaki): 12 Noon – 1:00 p.m. nonviolent witness at the White House where we will be joined by two Hibakusha (A-bomb survivors) who will offer testimony. We will also remember the anniversary of the martrydom of Franz Jagerstatter and Edith Stein. We will meet at Dorothy Day Catholic Worker @ 10:00 a.m. and then go to the White House for a nonviolent witness.

At Los Alamos, New Mexico

A hundred and fifty of us gathered on Sunday night, Aug. 5, at Ashley Pond in Los Alamos, New Mexico, at the exact spot where long ago the Hiroshima Bomb was built. Right at 5:15 p.m -- 8:15 a.m. Monday morning, Aug. 6 in Japan -- we heard live, thanks to the wonders of the Internet, the ringing of the Peace Bell in Hiroshima.

It was deeply moving. Each year, thousands gather in Hiroshima in Peace Park to commemorate the 1945 U.S. atomic bombing with a ceremony and the ringing of the giant Peace Bell. But here we were, standing in Los Alamos where the bomb was made, listening live over our sound system to the deep sound of the bell in Hiroshima. For once, people in Hiroshima and Los Alamos were connected in commemorating the U.S. bombing. It was a holy moment.

After we heard the solemn bell several times, all hundred and fifty of us processed in silence two by two up Trinity Boulevard toward Oppenheimer Way and the main entrance of LANL, the Nuclear Weapons Laboratories.

At 5:45 p.m. precisely, we each donned sackcloth and poured ashes on the sidewalk and sat down in strict silence, using this ancient biblical symbol of “sackcloth and ashes” to “repent of the mortal sin of nuclear weapons and beg the God of peace for the gift of disarmament.”

There were also actions in New York City and elsewhere throughout the country by people of Faith
We wore sackcloth and ash in front of the White House today.

It is a good ideas that repentants for America to come which can bring renewal in the Spirit from which old authorities inhibits the Lord helping people as walls of curses are held , as long as People do understand that the blood of Jesus is the sack cloth and ashes for the Christians , as this sack cloth and ashes ritual for repentance was abolished after the cross of Jesus Christ

Default Hiroshima after the 1945 bombing & now ........ vs Detroit

Images of Detroit 65 yrs after Hiroshima

What has caused more long term destruction?

The Atomic Bomb or U. S. Government programs created to buy the votes of those who want someone to take care of them?

Nuclear weapons are not a sin. Disarmament invites aggression from hostile countries. National peace and freedom through military preparedness is the order of the day until Christ returns, because until He returns there will always be wars and rumors of war.

Pray that our country's leaders have the good sense to keep our military strong and to maintain our nuclear stockpile.

What about the poor Christian AMERICAN prisoner who knelt on his knees after being starved and beaten...who knelt on his knees and prayed in earnest as some officer with a sword came down on his neck -causing his Christian head to fall to the ground and roll into the open sewer?

Whether it be a rock tied to a stick...or a nuclear weapon..both are the same. As for God..He gave mankind the mind to create this weapon and gave man the mind not to use it- It was only used twice on the two towns- over 60 years later..it was not used again...nor will it be- Have faith in mankind and their God given goodness.....we are still here...The great sin that was the nuclear bomb was the shattering of a quantum universe...to release the this force for evil _ I often wonder if others living on other levels of existence perished every time a nuke was used or tested...Do others exist in the realm of the inner atom?

The commandment is against murder. Not killing.

Not all warfare is just. But a just war is from God. (1 Chron. 5:22)

Hostile nations with nuclear capability will not get rid of their nuclear weapons if they can afford to keep them. For the United States to do so would therefore invite foreign aggression. A balance of power discourages foreign military aggression.
