Why the question?
In almost every Bible study or Christian gathering, someone declares, … “God will keep us from being tempted beyond our ability to resist” -- as though God has promised to mysteriously limit the temptation placed before people. The problem with that generalized belief is that it suggests that one has nothing to fear in this life and world from temptation or evil.

Truth: This is only a partial quote of 1 Cor 10:13, which goes on to say that ‘with temptation, God will provide a way of escape (clearly implied and affirmed elsewhere, that “resisting temptation” means seeking and taking the escape God has provided.

Scripture: 1 Cor 10:13 – “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Summary: The initial verse is an example of how a seemingly minor misquote can change one's interpretation of scripture into something entirely different than what the Bible says. We must cautiously ‘test everything people say or think", even when they qualify their claim with …”The Bible says ….”– against what the Bible really says! We have no authority to rewrite or reject God’s Word to make it appear or sound more pleasing to the eye or ear. (There is a way that seems right to a man, but, leads to destruction” Prov 14:12, 16:2, 21:12; Mat. 7:13-14).

Only through the blood of Jesus , will God keep us from being tempted beyond our ability to resist.....What do that mean ?.....We must pray to be cleansed from manipulating dark spirits that do tempt us through prayers of binding and loosing by the power of Jesus Christ and His blood judgments .......an example ; See if we smoke cigarette and try to quit , but then a dark spirit comes and blows tobacco smoke in our face from within the spirit , then we will be tempted to go and smoke another cigarette , so we need to pray to be cleaned of the dark spirit who blow smoke in our face to smell tobacco through Jesus blood prayers were Holy Spirit will rip these dark spirit out of our life by Jesus name .... or if we are trying to lose weight and resisting eating to much then there are dark spirit who come and make our abdomen hungry , then through Jesus Blood prayers , Holy Spirit will rip these dark spirit out of our life by Jesus name, and the hunger feeling will disappear..... See there are many other ideas were the adversary will come and tempt us to bother our bodies , where Jesus blood prayers where Holy Spirit will rip out the adversary so temptation will be gone .... See this gift of Holy Spirit is part of the redemption of Christ so the followers of Christ will have stabilities for the purpose of the Lord and be free indeed ..... See God must have our participation through prayer were God will keep us as God said ; ask, seek, and knock ..So if we don`t ask we don`t Get..

So God not letting me tempted beyond what I can bear isn't the same as us being tempted beyond our ability to resist?

The bottom line is that yes, in fact, we are NEVER tempted beyond our ability to resist. We simply chose whether we will be obedient or not. So both statements are still true....don't really see your point.
