Garya, when you say "set free" in reference to a homosexual, what do you mean? The loss of their sex drive? Fornicators and adulterers are not "set free". Fornicators settle down and get married so they're not living in sin, and adulterers go to counseling and form a better relationship with their spouse and stop sleeping around. In both of these scenarios, these people still have an avenue to fulfill their sexual needs. This is how they get on the right path, or as you put it, "set free". Am I the only one that sees comparing that with what homosexuals deal with as being absurd? Do you suggest that homosexuals just get married to a woman and pretend to enjoy the sex?
I'm saying free of the need, but you don't believe that God can do that. So what is the point of even to discuss it much. All your saying is manmade counciling or redirection of lust. The council of the Lord is not in word or mere redirection but in the His ability to change the very nature of a man/woman and then to redirect them into a proper life style. God takes care of the lust not the person. If a person were to get married after being free of excess or wrong sexual desire, it would come back naturally for the needs of enjoyment and procreation. I don't advocate homosexuals doing anything but what they are doing until they come to Christ and are set free and know it. I do not advocate repression. It only makes things worse.

Masturbation in itself is not a sin but the thoughts that drive it almost always are. It's a result of sin, not the cause. If you keep your mind and thoughts pure, which we can't do on our own but can with the help of the Holy Spirit, then masturbation will naturally diminish.

Interesting thread. I do read you bods, even if I don't post. Does the last post suggests that being gay is no worse than any other sexual activity - other than that designed to produce children in a properly sanctified marriage of course?

And I think you're full of it. Marrying the opposite sex and suppressing your attractions is not the same as changing your orientation.

Sorry, I will trust scientists over your anecdotal opinion.

Yea it's not fair or accurate, but that's just how the human mind works. Those people have made more atheists than all the scientists in the last 100 years put together.
I'd say most Fundies/Evangelicals have done quite a good job of turning people away from Christianity. Apparently they work for Satan.
