Default What's A Commandment Of God ?

"Love God and each other" daily and repent when you don't. That pretty much covers it all.

LOL Tony, are you Jewish or Christian? They have 613 commandments according to the Talmund. Only a few hundred more to go and you will have it

However, if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisioner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.

Believe it. If you think that Jesus only paid for your past sins and you have to obey God perfectly to continue in forgiveness you will not make it. Judgement without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgement!

The law is a hard taskmaster

-The entire OT is summed up as Love God and one another

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

-And the New Testament reenforces this what it shows what the commands of Jesus are: Love God and Love one another.

John 13

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 14
15 “If you love Me, keep[d] My commandments.

-His commandments were clearly listed in John 13

John 15
9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

1 John 3
23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us[e] commandment.
24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

1 John 4
20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can[c] he love God whom he has not seen? 21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
