What is the difference in "saved", "born-again", and "Christian"? Aren't they all the same? I think most of the entertainment industry stereotypes evangelist and "faith healers" portraying them negatively due to money and sex scandals. Catholic priest are never portrayed negatively although some have been involved in sex scandals. Maybe the industry is just now catching up and will do this in the future.

I don't see it at all in the US entertainment industry. The UK entertainment industry is a different story.

Saved and born again are terms usually used by evangelical and pentecostal Christians to identify themselves.

My guess is that anyone could say theyre 'Christain' because there are so many different forms of Christians, which I believe the term simply means a 'follower of Christ'.

A slight correction Power Surge - Anybody can say they're "Christian" but unless they have accepted Jesus as their Lord and savior, and accepted him as God's only begotten Son, who gave his life for our salvation, and most importantly, they have repented of their sins and are a living example of Christ, then it would be tough to call them "Christians".
As for the Christian-bashing that was mentioned - Let 'em bash us all they want, I don't care, that's expected. Afterall, Jesus wasn't spared from the bashing either. In fact, he says in Mark 8:34 Then he called his disciples and the crowds to come over and listen. "If any of you wants to be my follower", he told them, "you must put aside your own pleasures and shoulder your own cross, and follow me closely". He knew about the battles the appostles faced back then, as well as the battles all of us Christians are facing these days with the mainstream media and liberal politicians.

I stand corrected. How about if I say:
"anyone can claim to be a christian since there are so many different forms..."?

Any group, whether political, social, or religious, that considers itself to be superior, all-knowing, and authorized to bash all others has to expect bashing in return.

LOL.. Okay, I'll take that
You can be in a Baptist, Penticostal, Lutheran, Evangelist, or even in a Catholic church, what matters the most is how you follow Jesus' exact teachings.
Remember, some denominations have their own teachings, some of which are man-made. That's also when you to say what's better to follow? Man-made rules and ways, or Jesus' ways?

Except for Muslims; people seem to bend over backwards to make sure that they are not offended.

I'd disagree, as I've seen PLENTY of Muslim jokes on TV & in movies. And when was the last time a Muslim/Arabic was portrayed as funny, sexy, modern, etc? Usually they're written as terrorists, or at most they get a sappy "social commentary" role. Anyway, considering how much disrespect they get in real life (here in the US), maybe they do deserve a break from Hollywood?
P.S. Everyone please keep in mind that this was moved from the Entertainment forum... before you jump on anyone for questioning Christianity or being off-topic.
