John 12:5-6 (NASB)

It was an act of love, mercy and grace within the envelope of forgiveness.

I guess you could say that being forgiven is good news?
But there is a great deal more in his love letter to us.

"His love overshadows the waves of the sea."

Really?..Doesn't sound like what Yeshua was preaching during His ministry...In fact He said that He was sent only unto the Lost sheep of the house of Israel...

Acts 3:26
For you first, God raised-up His Son and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.

Acts 13:46

Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, "It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first; since you repudiate it ...
... behold, we are turning to the Gentiles."

"He came to seek and save that which was lost, don't be a stumbling block."

His own earthly ministry was solely to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, but He did tell His Apostles to take His gospel into all the world.

But the Apostles understood that as meaning only the house of Israel throughout the world. Evidenced by the meeting they had to have to be convinced that God had sent the Gospel to the Gentiles through Paul as we read in Act's.
