It isnt optional to for say that you will not murder, steal, committing idolatry, etc. God says his follower are to follow his commands and it is plain and simple as that.

What im trying to get as is, which are we to follow since so many accuse Christians of not keeping Gods commands, while at the same time the same set of commands in the OT they claim to be following has things listed that im sure they are not following either.
It is interesting that many of the Law covenant requirements are built on the idea of love. It is also indicative that many can no longer be followed and in fact to do so would be to reject Jesus' sacrifice. So the Law Code to Israel cannot be binding as a whole, thus not at all beyond the principles. In addition 9 of the 10 Commandments were repeated as binding on Christians. Only the Sabbath law was not stated to be binding.

Im not even sure we can use the argument of silence in regards to the Sabbath. I know the gays use the silence argument in regards to homosexuality, but that is covered under Sexual Immorality, so that usually strikes down that argument very quick. As for the Sabbath we know Jesus, Paul , and the apostles kept it before and after his death, but they didnt teach others to keep it and that it is a absolute part of your walk with God to rest from your works on a Saturday. But the Sabbath issue will go on until Jesus returns.

No... We are commanded to REMEMBER the Sabbath - Keep it holy (by not deliberately sinning on this particular day)

Man was made for the Sabbath not the other way around.

I go out of my way to Remember it. Keeping it in remembrance; Keeps it Holy.

for verily I say onto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

All be fulfilled- means until all the prophecies in the bible are fulfilled. We are not there yet. When we say Jesus fulfilled the law, we are saying he is the only man who lived who actually kept the whole law perfectly. And by doing so he fulfilled certain prophecies. One example is 1 John 3:5 And you no he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

Until God creates a new heaven and earth it is true that not one jot or tittle will pass from the law. The reason is because the law is for the lawless. We use the law rightly if we need to show someone who doesn't believe they are a sinner (which isn't true) that they need a savior. Once a person comes to faith in Jesus, they are no longer under the law whatsoever. They are under grace.

Ive heard so many times that Heaven and Earth has not passed away and not one jot or tittle will change from the law, so we are still supposed to be doing all the laws of the OT. Even if you take away whats applied to men only vs women only vs kings/priests in Torah, its still impossible to do the old law. Alot of the OT law involves the temple and since there isnt one, many of those commands are impossible. I cant stone anyone for breaking a law, we dont go to Jerusalem 3 times a year for the feasts and its commanded in Torah, we cant do the offerings commanded in Numbers 28 on the different feast days or sabbath, and i could go on with many more commands that we cant do now.

Which leads to believe that Jesus really did fulfill the OT law and we are to live by the commands in the NT. Granted the NT commands are from the OT and are explained to the fullest, I think any command from Torah repeated in the NT is what believers in the New Covenant should live by. Ive looked at all 1000+ commands in and even when you take away any repetitiveness, there are still 800+ commands in the NT and they are all 100% do able, calls us as believers to a higher standard, and shows you how to truly Love God and One another vs the many of the OT commands that have been fulfilled or cant be done now.

So when Jesus says if you love me you will keep my commands, follow the laws of Christ.
John 13:34-35

34 ďA new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.ĒJohn 15:17

17 This is my command: Love each other.1 John 3:23-24

23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 The one who keeps Godís commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

1 John 4:21

21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

1 John 5:1-3

5 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,

Galatians 6:2

2 Carry each otherís burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
I have two brain cells. One for my name and one for everything else. So I need simple:how about love, compassion, understanding, reason, and commonsense. and, keep you hands off of my stuff and nobody has to get hurt.

Christ "fulfilled" the law. You must also remember who the law was given to. Not you! It was given to Israel alone.

Jesus was addressing those under the law only. Not you!

Mat. 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

What we need to focus on is the "Mystery" that was given for us during the age of Grace through our Apostle Paul.

Trying to apply God's promises and requirements He gave to someone else is like reading someone else mail. It ain't about you.
We ARE as Christians to comply with new testament commands. That is How we show we are different from all who do not live or believe in Christ. Also it takes more than just believing in Christ Jesus to be saved. That is just the first step. ask Him into your heart and life to be saved but MUST be born again of WATER AND SPIRIT to make it to heaven. It takes MORE than believing because the devil believes and trembles. It is all written in the HOLY BIBLE which is for EVERY ONE today. YOU MUST READ it to KNOW it.

And the point is that it is NOT about RULES. When will you learn that rules don't make compassion OR community?
