You're right. I think some Christians end up doing more harm than good because of the overkill approach.

Very true. It seldom works to go up to someone and "preach the word". I'd rather let them see me as someone they can confide in. If I have that attitude I've been amazed sometimes how people will open up.. if they sense you are a listener and are interested in them. I'm not interested in "trying to convert people". I'm interested in offering a way to peace and happiness for those that are interested. Of course, there will also be times when the word will have to be brought in a convicting way.

I hope I understood you well.

I guess that if the person is receptive and has an open mind, he knows that God is the same for us all and he wouldn't mind exchanging an idea about God or Jesus with you.

try to know that person first and see how receptive he/she is, although imho nobody has how to resist divine love, and it doesn't need to be expressed with words, just feel it and send the vibe
