Question for Catholics that though JP2 & Benedic 16 were great

Some interesting comments in article below talking about the conservative bishops that have been appointed since John Paul II.
I'm a progressive Catholic living in what I have been told is the second most conservative diocese in the country and I could just scream every time I think how the bishops ignore the Gospel of Peace and Justice.
