Excuse me, we were talking about the Spirit that led to the realization that it is inappropriate to hold another person in slavery, and if you think it is inappropriate merely because it is against the law, then the Spirit seems to have missed you. If you do not agree that simple love for our fellow man is enough to show that what we did not realize was true for nearly 2,000 years after Jesus taught that love, then I will also leave you to your dependence on the Bible for direction.
The leading of the Spirit will always be about applications of the principles Christ taught, things that are often not indicated in the Bible.
No, we were talking about the topic, and you are working hard to derail the conversation to slavery.
Again, if the Bible is not the word of God, as you clearly say, then it must be words/doctrines of men, so by rejecting the Bible as word of God, you ARE saying what I thought you were saying.
Last comment about slavery: Your point about slavery failed, since it was shown to you that freeing slaves does not contradict the teaching of the Bible, and that it cannot be an example of something the Spirit told YOU, because slavery was abolished before you were born. Paul encouraged Philemon to free his slave, did he not? Nothing new there. If you want to continue to talk about it, you should open a new thread.
Why do you quote from a book which you believe has no authority, and even mock those who think it does have authority?
Here you go again Mr Jarber saying things with no foundation. I have not said scripture has no authority. I am saying by the authority of the scripture that it says Jesus Christ is the word of God, that it says the Word(Jesus Christ) not the bible tabernacled among us.
And the Word became flesh, and did tabernacle among us, and we beheld his glory, glory as of an only begotten of a father, full of grace and truth.
Why is it 100% bible believers are in fear of coming out and saying Jesus Christ alone IS THE Word of God?. Peter had no problem saying He is the word of Life,John in his gospel said he is,they have no issue saying he is the only way, he is the only savior, yet when it comes to him alone being the Word, they refuse to say it.
Why are 100% Bible deniers in fear of admitting the Bible and the Spirit are both the word of God, and they will never contradict each other? The Bible is the written word, and the Spirit is the living word. They support each other, and both are a gift from God.
Why do you keep quoting the Bible if you have such low opinion of it that you call believers "book worshippers", and "bibleans", as if one would have to be a fool to believe anything it says?
The message is the same be it written on paper, or spoken out loud, of told to us by the Spirit. If there is a contradiction, then there is a problem.
And most importantly, what has it got to do with the topic? How many discussions have there been on the topic "is Bible the word of God, or merely words of men"?. More than I can count. Please make an effort to stay on topic.
“Sovereign Lord,” they said, “You made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them. You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven
For I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel that was proclaimed by me is not of human origin; for I did not receive it from a human source, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ

Here you go again saying things with no foundation, I highly esteem the scriptures and read them daily.
Jesus Christ is THE Word of God, yet you will not admit it that he alone is THE word of God. You (Jesus Christ) have the word of life age enduring.
Did the bible become flesh and dwell amongst us or the word(which was from the beginning,Jesus Christ)?.
Its got everything to do with the OP because understanding that He alone is THE word of God dictates how you understand scripture as a whole, new and old.

Last off topic post:
If Jesus said this: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"
and today you read in the Bible: " For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"
He used the written word to respond to Satan. "It is written..."
The teachers of the law and the elders came to him. By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you authority to do this?
Jesus replied, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. John's baptism—was it from heaven, or of human origin? Tell me!”
They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’ but if we say, ‘Of human origin’ . . . ” (They feared the people, for everyone held that John really was a prophet.)
So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”
Jesus said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
If you look at this account carefully you will see that Jesus told them by what authority he was doing these things( I have bolded the part to help). In fact he told them shortly before that he was operating out of the Kingdom of God,which I will remind you is in us as it was in him who cast out demons by the finger of God,we just need to seek it there and find it there.
He used the written word to respond to Satan. "It is written..."
He also quoted scripture to those who thought they had the truth, who sat in their places of worship every sabbath listening to the writings( probably knowing it off by heart) yet they rejected his understanding and knowledge of them.
