Although God forgives every one of the sins they have committed against him, not all are forgiven; because to be forgiven, we must reject sin and accept righteousness. Therefore, Jesus instilled his spirit of love in our heart by his ultimate act of love on the cross; so that we may receive forgiveness by rejecting sin and accepting righteousness. To forgive, therefore, is not only to give up claim or resentment we have against our offenders but also to bring them healing from sin by the love we express towards them through our acts of sacrifice. It is sometimes impossible for us to sacrifice our own interest for someone who has betrayed and hurt us. However, if we keep our eyes on Jesus and remember the sacrifice he made for us; then through his grace we can do it.
When we forgive others, we are exercising love. This frees us of our own sinfulness and brings us forgiveness of sins. On the other hand if we refuse to forgive, we are rejecting love; and without love we cannot reject sin; and without rejecting sin we cannot be forgiven (Matt. 6: 14-15).

You are correct..to not forgive is 100% rejecting love.
It is the opposite of what our Father wants.
How wonderful a feeling when we drop something as if it never
happened and we just forgive someone...seeing who they really are...
just like me, making mistakes and wishing they hadn't been jerk.

It is also practicing being in the "now"...because their offense was in the past...
it doesn't even exist anymore.
The train is going by, but we are still thinking of a car that has LONG ago passed
us by....

I disagree that we cannot be forgiven without rejecting sin. The reason for disagreeing is simple: Jesus asked the Father to forgive his malfactors while he was being crucified. Did the cruficifiers have to ask forgiveness? No. The Father was willing to forgive them in spite of their sin.

If God had to wait for man to feel guilty in order to forgive, He would have to wait an eternity.

Blessings,
brian

Yes Jesus said in John 3:3 ...``Very truly I say to you , Except a man be born again , he cannot see the kingdom of God ``......means that a believer need to repent of sin , pray and work with other Christians to get Jesus to put His spirit on them and then receive Jesus Spirit ........... Then the believers sin will be forgiven and then the believers prayers will be heard in heaven .......... Then the believer who are born again in the Spirit of God can ask forgiveness for people in their prayers who are not born again in the Spirit of God , and have not repented , and Jesus spirit will cleans them if the curses are not man made but of the devil , as the authority of man will be honored , whether it is curses or blessing authority ............... But salvation through Christ needs the believer to seek and be born again is the spirit , as God is Spirit , and other believers can assist and ask forgiveness in the prayers for the new convert and direct them to receive the correct Spirit of God

Ah, John 3:3....
So simple, so clear.

I always love when Jesus says Verily verily or very truly...
Bec, THIS is more important and we should take notice...extra...
A more hidden secret part of the Formula is being shared.
Sigh....so simple.

Matthew 12:31 "Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven."

Every sin in the life of a believer can AND will be forgiven them. Why? Because no sin is greater than the blood of Jesus. If there was a sin God would not forgive then that means God considers that particular sin greater than Jesus and it simply is not true. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is rejecting Jesus Christ as your savior for your whole life. By not accepting Jesus you're insulting God's grace and saying Jesus isn't enough to save you. So the only sin that cannot be forgiven is the sin of rejecting Jesus. Believers cannot commit this sin.

Jesus said of the Roman soldiers that those soldiers should be forgive because they did not know what they were doing.

Jesus only promised one of the robbers that in the future he would be in paradise.- Acts 24 v 15

Very good post! God will forgive all past sins we have comitted against Him Romans 3-25, but in no way are future sins forgiven.
God deals with us in the hear and now.

Brought into the light of truth!
Joh 3:20 For everyone practicing (producing) evil (willful sin and rebellion) hates the light (goodness, purity, Jesus Christ) and does not come to the light (loves the darkness) lest his deeds (works of righteousness) should be exposed. (Brought into the light of truth)
Quote:
“Preachers Gone Wild!” Immorality in the Pulpit”
Even now in the 21st century in the church, we have some “preachers gone wild.” They are generally driven by the lust for fame, sex, and money. Unfortunately, today in the church world integrity, morality, humility, and anointing take a back seat to showmanship, talent, pride, and those who can draw big crowds and money. They look to be “Sunday’s best” by being the hottest preacher or singer instead of living holy every day of the week and presenting their bodies to be living sacrifices, holy and acceptable unto God which is their reasonable service.
Where has the truth gone today? Where are the John the Baptists crying out in the wilderness for repentance on the scale of Nineveh? And where are the few brave souls living the truth as handed down by the saints of old?
These as well as many other questions must be answered before we can even begin to understand why the preachers of today have “gone wild”, and are destroying the Holy Name of Jesus Christ and why He came and was crucified on behalf of sinful mankind!
But sad to say these practices are the norm for the poor, blind and naked church, that has gone wild in sin and debauchery! Anything goes, the conscience is seared, and many in the system do absolutely nothing to expose this blatant hypocrisy.
They come and go each and every week to their beloved place of worship, as they enjoy the good music, coffee, and donuts, while they themselves, their family, as well as most of the clergy are on the deep and dark road to perdition, they scoff at heart purity, real repentance and a working faith in love, departing from iniquity, loving not the world, plus a host of many more commands that they refuse to obey and follow!
This is Christianity at it worse, portraying a form of godliness, but totally denying its power to save them from the gutter and darkness! They come with a message of just accept, trust and believe, while the lost and dying world looks on, and laughs as they see a dead church living as the devil, but inviting them to join in the fun and games!
No wonder Christianity as we know it today is a joke and a mass of utter confusion, leading the blind into a ditch, they cannot dig themselves out of because their beloved pastors are right there with them, living in the darkness, teaching A false sin gospel getting people saved IN sin and rebellion, thus leading to “pastors gone wild”, with no one to blame but themselves and their doctrines of demons such as:
Original sin (total depravity)
Penal substitution and moral transfer
No repentance, leading to heart purity which is legalism to them
OSAS or eternal security
Carnal Christians
Faith alone
Plus many more doctrines that actually promote sin, instead of killing it for good in the process of godly sorrow leading to repentance unto life!
Unless the old man is crucified with Christ as commanded in repentance, then all is lost, the dead church of sin grows bigger and bigger, as the lost sinners flock to hear their watered down gospel, promising them liberty while they live in great sin and disobedience!
What is the answer?
Biblical Repentance:
You believe from your heart. You obey to receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:32) He comes into a clean vessel. A heart made pure by faith (obedience) Acts 15:9) you obey and keep obeying, daily, to keep your heart pure and undefiled from the world! (1 Peter 1:22) That's how it works! Genuine repentance involves humility, brokenness and is a humiliating experience. When the true light of God's word floods into your soul, you see yourself as you are, in rebellion to God! This is what godly sorrow is all about. Deep regret for your sin's, a season of sorrow, leading to salvation! (2 Corinthians 7:10) not getting saved in your disobedience and sin's, but out of them, through true repentance first where the flesh is crucified with Christ, and put to death! (Galatians 2:20) cleansed to receive the Holy Spirit!
Reference verses:

Act 5:32 And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him."
Act 15:8 So God, who knows the heart, (purified through repentance and faith) acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us,
Act 15:9 and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
1Pe 1:20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest(came to be) in these last times for you
1Pe 1:21 who through Him believe (obey and follow) in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith (obedience) and hope are in God.
1Pe 1:22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, (what repentance produces)
1Pe 1:23 having been born again,(A true living faith) not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
1Pe 1:24 because "ALL FLESH IS AS GRASS, AND ALL THE GLORY OF MAN AS THE FLOWER OF THE GRASS. THE GRASS WITHERS, AND ITS FLOWER FALLS AWAY,
1Pe 1:25 BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER." Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you. (His truth)
2Co 7:10 For godly sorrow produces repentance (The sin stops) leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. (Just confess, no stopping)
2Co 7:11 For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear (pure) in this matter.
Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ(flesh put to death in reality) it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh(body) I live by faith in the Son of God(obedience), who loved me and gave Himself for me(A sin offering)
It’s a very simple solution to this horrible dilemma, the answer is near to those who come to God on His terms, broken and contrite, yielding to the power of the Holy Spirit in all submission and humility, which then leads to a pure heart and soul before God and an end to the “pastors gone wild” syndrome plaguing the dead churches today!

Very good post and your last point is a good start. The rest of the solution is to stop focusing on sin and start thinking: "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." A person who is "eager to do good works" is sort of like a moving target for the temptation........not so easy to tackle.

If you believe that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross has not completely removed all past, present and future sins from the life of a believer then you do not know the value of the blood of Jesus. Jesus did not come to make bad people good. Jesus came to make dead people live. If the blood of Jesus only removes the sins we have done up until the point we are saved then no one is going to Heaven. Also if that is true then I say lets not tell anyone about Jesus until the very last moment of their lives so that their whole life of sins will be forgiven. But no one knows when anyone will die so we can't do that can we? Religion has perverted the gospel and spread the lie that we are only saved to the extent of our sinless life after we are saved. This is heresy and those who teach this do not know the value of Jesus and care more about their pride than their savior.
