They believe in works, praying through saints and Mary before statues shaped into what they think looks like them, big churches and religious practices to earn your salvation or maintain it and its all an insult to the grace of God. The ranks catholics have created within their church is just another work of their hands they believe God finds pleasing or favorable.
As a man who holds greater authority from God on earth than the Pope I can tell you that you are correct.

So this man made organization in Rome thinks it is God's cash resister and God's overlord!

Now go read.

Oh, Catholics believe that anyone who dies and is going to heaven is a saint as the other post mentioned. To designate a big Saint is where the Catholic Church looks at the facts and is then makes a decision according to age old rules. Sainthood can take years and decades or more. Also, if you are martyred for your beliefs or faith of Jesus Christ, you automatically become a Saint.

But it all comes down to the only Church created by Jesus and given His Authority (Keys) to make the call or canonize YOUR bible.

Come on home. Jesus would have wanted it that way.
Those verses say nothing about, and do not relate to that man made organization in Rome you worship. Peter was never a part of that organization that came into existence long after he died.

Ah, one of those nebulous ether cloud churches that live in your heart. Problem is we have a minimum of 33,000+ plus hearts. That theory really doesn't hold water. Besides, for 1000 years, the Jesus's Church WAS the only church. To their credit, the Orthodox churches didn't introduce Sola Scriptura. That genius was brought to us by Luther. And Pandora's box was opened. Now, what is Christianity today? Well, what ever you want it to be.

Did Jesus create a Church and appoint it's head? Yes. What is the foundation and bulwark of the Truth. The Church. It's not in your mind. Who canonized the book that you use to assimilate all your opinions. The Church. It's a really place you can go to.

I am not in the kingdom of heaven(B). I am on the kingdom of earth(A). Jesus created His Church so you could get from point A to point B. It's really that simple.

Since God knows all "saints" are rewarded by God however He sees fit...bestowing sainthood on someone is just away we here on earth can honor a person.

What was it that Peter (and later the others) were given the keys to? Hint: Matthew 16:19

So you want to be Catholic?

Peter receives the authority (keys) to run Jesus's Church.

The Church is the gateway to the Kingdom of Heaven and is given the Authority on earth to teach His people about the good word. The Bible you read would not exist if it weren't for His Church. Rejecting his church is rejecting Jesus.
