I heard this in a sermon by Joseph Prince a couple months ago and wanted to share this revelation here.

1 Kings 18:38

"Right then the LORD's fire fell and consumed the burnt offering, the wood, the stones, the dust, and even the water that was in the trench!"

In the old testament sacrifices, God's fire consumed everything. Nothing was left. It showed that God's judgment was greater than the sacrifice and continued offering would be necessary because God's holy wrath against sin was not satisfied with these sacrifices.

John 19:30

"When He had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, He bowed His head and gave up His spirit."

When Jesus said, "It is finished!" God's judgment had already come on Jesus, but yet He remained to say, "It is finished!" This proves that under grace the sacrifice is greater than the judgment and that since the sacrifice remained after the judgment had come, it is proof that God's holy wrath against sin had finally been satisfied. That is why today for the believer, there is no more condemnation for us because Jesus received it all at the cross.

God's love for us sent Jesus to atone for our sins.

God's love is not about sin, it's everything to do with you. Your sin consciousness stood in the way of you knowing it. What more could he have done to prove His love ?.

I never said God's love is about sin. I don't know where you pulled that from.
