I believe God does not need worship.

The worship is for our own benefit.

Exactly! I cannot imagine why God would want worship./ Last time I checked God was not insecure or petty. I don;t think God demands worship as long as we behave in a Jesus like manner.

The worship benefit is for us. Worship does nothing for God.

If worship isn't for God, then why does He have the "four beasts" that sing "holy holy holy is the Lord God almighty who was and is and is to come" around His throne day and night? (Revelation something)

John 4:23 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him."

Our worship exalts Him. You suggest that "we produce the state of mind in our consciousness that is "in tune" with God's and Christ's consciousness (Holy Spirit)."
We cannot ever, of ourselves, become "in tune" with God. It is the Spirit within us, that allows that connection.

Agreed. He doesn't NEED anything from us.

It is NOT for God. It is for US. It is what it does to our state of mind that is valuable. "Be still and know that I am." By focusing on "love of God and each other" we produce the state of mind in our consciousness that is "in tune" with God's and Christ's consciousness (Holy Spirit). That is its purpose. Glory is a human fabrication of the ego.
Got a verse for that?

Vizio:

The NT was written by men from another era that had a primitive view of God.

It is not so much what the bible says. This is about common sense and we as humans received common sense from God. And obviously God has common sense too. God needs no worship, that is common sense.

God may want people to worship for their own benefit. Gor gets nothing from the worship. The benefit goes to the people doing the worship.

It's inspired by God.

I agree that God needs no worship.

I agree--God does want us to worship him and that it benefits us. But the Bible does not say that worship is about us. Sorry. Worship is first and foremost about God, and for God.

God wants devotion ...... See the worship of Spirit and truth of God is the worship of the virtue of faith, hope, charity, prudence , fortitude, justice, and temperance.... which is all worship to the Lord Jesus in the Spirit.....

Worship is a result of coming into the presence of His Glory which means the Beauty of Holiness and Righteousness. Without that contact with His spiritual beauty all you have is an intellectual knowledge of Him and you won't be made into His likeness/glorified so as to stand face to face with Him. He can only transform you by the Spirit of who He is.

Direct contact with God results in spontaneous worship with no effort at all! Who has seen His Glory and not been changed for eternity? No vanity at all but rather a reciprocating love relation because His love is imputed to us forever.

But, the beneficiary is you. God remains the same. You cannot ad or subtract from God. God cannot be petty or needy.
