Why do some Christians ignore this centerpiece of Christianity.

You mean sermon ON the mount...

And without repentance it is impossible to have faith. And without humility it's impossible to please God either. (Let not the left hand know what the right is doing)

You'll have to read the whole NT to learn all the things He taught. The sermon is a guideline for Christian living/dicipleship, so it would make sense that'd become a Christian first, but of course it doesn't mean non-Christians can't benefit from from reading and following it.

Frankly, you, nor I, are that important.
You were saved to do His works.
You are an instrument/TOOL of His righteousness.
In your words, He serves you, not you serve Him.

All mankind was important enough to God for Christ to die for our sins.

John 3:16

An instrument to serve other people equally unimportant?

Yes, we are saved for works, but people are important to God, so important that he sacrificed his own son for us.

So what.

That doesn't address what I said. I never said he didn't come to die for our sins.

My beef was with he only came to die for our sins, which was what you presented in how you worded the other comment.

He did not come to ONLY save our butts.
In fact that is not even the most important reason he came.
