Music is such an important aspect of praise and worship in the church. We have a large variety of Christians from different traditions in this forum. I thought it would be interesting and potentially uplifting to know what Christian music is the favorite of each poster.

This is actually probably my favorite youtube Mormon Tabernacle Choir number.

I love the video that goes along with it. The very beginning part of the video represents a scene taken from the Book of Mormon, so I can understand why some people would not be touched by it as I was. The rest are scenes from the New Testament, mostly from Christ's prayer in Gethsemane until Thomas witnessed His resurrection. Here are the words; if you read them before you watch the video, you may appreciate it even more.

They heard His voice, a voice so mild;
It pierced them through and made their souls to quake;
They saw Him come, a man in white,
The Savior who had suffered for their sake.

They felt the wounds in hands and side,
And each could testify; This is the Christ;

This is the Christ, the holy Son of God,
Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind.
This is the Christ, the healer of our souls
Who ransomed us with love divine.

I read His words, the words He prayed
While bearing sorrow in Gethsemane;
I feel His love, the price He paid.
How many drops of blood were spilled for me?

With saints of old in joyful cry
I too can testify; This is the Christ;

This is the Christ, the holy Son of God,
Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind.
This is the Christ, the healer of our souls
Who ransomed us with purest love divine!

Okay, i have a dumb question. HOW do you import youtube videos into threads? I'm ignorant and can't figure it out.

Yeshua Bless You

The Ave Maria by Schubert. I cannot imagine a wedding without this tune.

Even Richard Dawkins has tears in his eyes.

Luciano Pavarotti - Ave Maria - YouTube

The Bach-Gounod Ave Maria is also awesome.

Bach, a non-catholic must be turning on his grave, ha, ha.

All you do is highlight the web address that's at the top of your screen where the video is. Then you copy and paste the link onto the thread. It's just like copying and pasting any other link.

Sheila, since there are often quite a few videos displayed on the screen at once, I've found it to be best to actually start playing the video you want to copy the link for. While it is playing, copy the link. I don't know if I'm explaining it very well or not, but the procedure is pretty much foolproof. I've never had it fail. (If it doesn't work for you, it's probably because of how I explained it.)

Spirit of God, descend upon my heart:
Wean it from earth, thro' all its pulses move.
Stoop to my weakness, mighty as Thou art,
And make me love Thee as I ought to love.

Hast Thou not bid us love Thee, God and King?
All, all Thine own, soul, heart and strength and mind.
I see Thy cross; there teach my heart to cling;
O let me seek Thee, and O let me find.

Teach me to feel that Thou art always nigh;
Teach me the struggles of the soul to bear
To check the rising doubt, the rebel sigh;
Teach me the patience of unanswered prayer.

Teach me to love Thee as Thine angels love,
One holy passion filling all my frame:
The baptism of the heav'n descended Dove
My heart an altar and Thy love the flame.

On Eagle's Wings - Josh Groban - YouTube

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
Who abide in His shadow for life,
Say to the Lord, "My Refuge,
My Rock in Whom I trust."

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
The snare of the fowler will never capture you,
And famine will bring you no fear;
Under His Wings your refuge,
His faithfulness your shield.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
You need not fear the terror of the night,
Nor the arrow that flies by day,
Though thousands fall about you,
Near you it shall not come.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
For to His angels He's given a command,
To guard you in all of your ways,
Upon their hands they will bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
