Baloney! Revelation was written to the Jews circa 63 AD in Jerusalem to warn them of impending judgement on their city which came 7 years later in 70 AD just as John prophecized.

Shepherd, you really need for YOU to educate yourself about Revelation instead of absorbing and regurgitating all this claptrap prophecy gurus like Lindsey and LaHayne brainwash you with just to line their pockets with your hard-earned dough.

There are three arguments in support of dating Revelation at 63 AD:

1. The early date is based on what we find in Revelation chapter 11. In verse one, John is given a measuring rod & told to go and measure the temple and count the worshipers there. You can't measure something that is not there. In verse two, John is told not to measure the outer court because it has been given to the Gentiles and they will trample on it for 42 months which is also 1260 days or 3 years. Isn't it amazing that history tells us that this is exactly how long the Romans trampled the holy city of Jerusalem from the spring of 67 AD to the fall in early fall of 70 AD?.

2. a Syriac version of Revelation exists which has the following inscription: "the Revelation which was made by God to John the Evangelist in the Island of Patmos to which he was banished by Nero the Emperor." Nero's reign was from 54 AD - 68 AD.

3. Considering what the book of Revelation is really about, it would make sense that the Revelation would be given before Nero Caesar began persecuting Christians in 64 CE (AD). The date is also trustworthy because of the prophecies in Revelation about the upcoming destruction of Jerusalem.
The harlot in Revelation is Jerusalem, not Rome. Jerusalem sits on seven hills. Just one of dozens of proofs that Revelation was written for the Jews of John's time, not us. "For the time is near."

If you truly wish to know what Revelation is really all about read the link below. Good scholarship. But if you insist on sticking with the garbage that these money-grubbing prophecy charlatans have been peddling for centuries then there's nothing anyone can do for you.

Luke wrote about the year 70 at Luke 19 vs 43,44

John wrote Revelation at the close of the first century. After Revelation John wrote the gospel according to John and his three letters.
The setting or time frame of Revelation is the Lord's day [ Rev. 1 v 10 ] which is our day or time frame setting.

The 'harlot' of Revelation chapters 17,18 is international in scope [ more than Jerusalem or Rome ]. She sits on many waters [ peoples]
- Rev. 17 vs 1 B, 15.

She is also a city like ancient Babylon was a city whose Babylonian religious practices were counterfeit religious practices.
As the people migrated from ancient Babylon they took with them their myth religious concepts and ideas and spread them into a greater religious Babylon or Babylon the Great which is the world's false religious sector who has played false to God and His Word [ Bible ].
The world's religions think of themselves as some sort of 'religious queen' [ Rev. 18 v 7 ] who will never see sorrow or mourning.
