There are numerous Hutterite colonies in my area. Anabaptists like Amish, but they don't eschew all things to do with modernity.

We already have communities like that around the country. Retirement villages in FL and elsewhere. Only older folks and people with children not allowed to move in.

We have a town that is almost all Mennonite and Amish in our state and they all live near each other. Some of those religions have communes where the whole family lives together making their houses big or near each other. They are some what of a tourist stop with a cafe that has good food and desserts. One family serves dinners in the summer to groups of people. They don't have electricity, only propane for lights and running their utilities. Horse drawn carriages. We went there to eat and took a carriage ride. I don't think I could live that way though.
