Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary -
Reconcile
Rec"on*cile`\ (-s?l`), v. t. [imp. & p. p. Reconciled (-s?ld`); p. pr. & vb. n. Reconciling.] [F. r['e]concilier, L. reconciliare; pref. re- re- + conciliare to bring together, to unite. See Conciliate.]

1. To cause to be friendly again; to conciliate anew; to restore to friendship; to bring back to harmony; to cause to be no longer at variance; as, to reconcile persons who have quarreled.

Propitious now and reconciled by prayer. --Dryden.

The church [if defiled] is interdicted till it be reconciled [i.e., restored to sanctity] by the bishop. --Chaucer.

We pray you . . . be ye reconciled to God. --2 Cor. v. 20.

2. To bring to acquiescence, content, or quiet submission; as, to reconcile one's self to affictions.

3. To make consistent or congruous; to bring to agreement or suitableness; -- followed by with or to.

The great men among the ancients understood how to reconcile manual labor with affairs of state. --Locke.

Some figures monstrous and misshaped appear, Considered singly, or beheld too near; Which, but proportioned to their light or place, Due distance reconciles to form and grace. --Pope.

4. To adjust; to settle; as, to reconcile differences.

Syn: To reunite; conciliate; placate; propitiate; pacify; appease.

Quote:
If God was truly manifest in Christ to destroy the works of the devil, and yet most souls are to be held captive in the power of sin and death forever or be annihilated as even the world suggests, will not Satan have succeeded in ultimately destroying or rendering futile most of the works and goals of God Almighty?
How could God be all in all if any less than all remained outside of Him and apart from Him in death?
How could death in any form remain if the life and love of God were in all, and all were in life?
Does not the scripture say that the last enemy even death will be swallowed up and destroyed?
Is not the devils power present in all sin and death that holds humanity captive to his will?
Will not the devil and all his works be totally destroyed leaving God to be all in all?
Eternal Torment - Fact or Figmentation - by K. Ross McKay

God bless.

I knew it! A Universalist. If there wasn't something inherently wrong with your "religion", you would not be so insistent on hiding it. You're not a Christian, because true Christians shout it from the rooftops. A cult such as Universalism avoids, re-directs, climbs over, climbs under, climbs around, talks in circles, squares, diagonally, horizontally, vertically, hexagonally, sticks their fingers in their ears and goes "la-la-la-la-la-la - I can't hear you!!"....whatever can be done to stay completely in denial.

I mean, you'd rather have people believe you are a Mormon or Jehovah's Witness (actually, I think that JH thing got to ya cause you blurted it out after that one) rather than own up to being part of a cult movement.

We can go round and round and you can keep saying your un-spiritual interpretation is based on this or that but it is never going to fly with me or any other God fearing true Christian. And most importantly, it will never fly with God. Anyone can distort God's Holy scriptures simply because they can't handle or don't like what it says.

I'm telling you, Shana, you'd better get your head out of the sand and face the truth. The damage you are doing will not be tolerated by God. It is the Christian's duty to guide the lost to Christ and warn of the perils of hell and the dire consequences of denying God. It's not to say to people "Oh...it's okay honey, you just go do whatever you want - even if you don't make it to heaven this time, God's gonna just sit you over there in the corner with this little dunce cap for a 1000 years or so, but eventually God's going to let everyone play together.

In a word..............NOT.......
Why are you a boxer? Does it make your world seem okay?

16. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised;17. and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.18. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.19. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.20. But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.21. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead.22. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be *made alive.23. But each in his own * order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at His coming,24. then comes the *end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power.25. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet.26. The last enemy that will be abolished is death.27. For He has put all things in subjection under His feet. But when He says, "All things are put in subjection," it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him.28. When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.

*end= telos-the goal reached, the aim or purpose, the last in a succession or series.

*made alive= zoopoleo=make alive, vivify, used primarily in the NT of raising the dead to life, generally used in references to salvation

Many Christians believe that this refers to the last in a series of groups to be raised in light of the fact that "order" (tagma) is a military term meaning "a company". There are those who belong to Him at His coming but there is another group yet to be made His (remember He has been made heir of all things according to Hebrews 1) The previous groups will have already been raised to life, but death will still be in existence until it is abolished by giving life to the final group. Why are all things to be made subject to Him? So that God may be all in all.

abolished=kartargeo= to reduce to inactivity, rendered powerless

Ephesians 1: 5-10
"He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us. In all wisdom and insight He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fulness of the times, that is the *summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens, and things upon the earth."

*summing up=anakephalalomai=to be reduced to a head or sum total,; in the mid. voice as in Eph. 10, to gather together again in one, to reunite under one head

God bless.
Are you typing from a script? Your responses are so robotic.....I'm dead serious. Do you realize how you sound? Has your cult considered every conceivable angle and put it on paper? Shana.....WAKE UP!!!!

Hi DayoftheLord, can you show me where I have hidden anything? Just ask anyone who has been on this board for awhile and they know that I have never hidden the fact that I am a Christian Universalist. You never asked me what I was. You seemed to think that you had me figured out. And I am not in denial about anything

DayoftheLord, you suggested that I was a Mormon or a Jehovah's Witness. I have always stated that I was a Christian Universalist (Universalist Christian) Check out my posts, threads if you are interested. I have never hidden anything

It seems to me that you are unable to accept the fact that Christian can disagree on some subjects without anyone distorting anything.

Again, I have never encouraged people to do whatever they want. There are consequences for sin but I do not deny those scriptures which speak to the eventual restoration of all to God. God bless.

Hi DayoftheLord, I am typing from the Bible (either NKJV, Young's Literal, NASB, KJV, Interlinear Greek/English NT, Concordant Literal) and I share related quotes from the Hebrew/Greek Key Word Study Bible (NASB) I also use W.E. Vines for some studies and Strongs Concordance. I also share quotes from other Christian Universalists with the source given. What cult are you referring to, DayoftheLord? Remember, I am not a member of a cult. God bless.

Yes, you did hide it. Not with just me, but many other posters also. I had one poster to ask me privately to see what I could do with you. This person was highly disturbed by what you are doing here, and so am I. Like I said, if you were a true, Bible believing, born again Christian filled with the good works of the Holy Spirit, you would be letting everyone know right up front about it. I do. You beat around the bush....about everything.

I'm done for this evening, but I would like to leave this with you. I don't want you quoting anything or anyone. I want a straight answer. Enough is enough.

How do you explain away all of the scriptures in the Bible concerning Hell? Are you saying that Jesus lied when He spoke about the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 19? This was spoken straight from Jesus Christ's lips. Are you going to try and tell me that this was "just a story"? Don't waste your breath - Jesus was trying His very level best to strongly express that the story happened, that hell is for eternity, that the rich man was NEVER getting out.

And it will happen a trillion more times because people refuse and deny Jesus. Are you willing to risk an eternity in hell to prove a point or that you are just, right, right, right? How utterly ridiculous is that? Humble yourself and ask God to direct you with your thoughts, Shana, because they are not your own.

I will find every single reference in the Bible on hell and bring it on next time.

Once again, Huh???!!! I guess whatever size it takes for you to climb into? Man, I'm stumped. Is there a Universalist on-line convention or something?
