Except the parts where it talks about the fire never being quenched and the worm not dying?
Honestly...if the only reason Jesus died on the cross was to give you warm fuzzies, then he was dumb because I'm sure there was an easier way. I personally couldn't worship a God like that. But hey...if your "non-literal" reading of it helps you sleep at night, good on ya.
That isn't Hell
From a link in Post #67
"Gehenna
In the OT the word for hell is 'ge-hinnom', meaning "Valley of Hinnom." It was a place to the southwest of Jerusalem. This place was once "called 'Topheth' and derived from an Aramaic word meaning 'fireplace.' It was here that some pagan kings practiced human sacrifice by fire (2 Chron. 28:3; 33:6; Jer. 7:31; 32:35).1 This is probably why in the NT the word came to be associated with destruction by fire. The word 'gehenna' is found in the NT 12 times and every instance is spoken of by Jesus. In the NT, "gehenna" is used of a condition and never of a place."
I'll take a scripture that clearly states that our salvation is salvation from eternal hell. Do you have one ?.
Eph 2:3 "Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest."
We are saved from God's wrath. That wrath is going to be poured out on sinners by him casting them into hell.
I'm sick and tired of people saying salvation is salvation from hell and not having any clear scriptures to support that salvation is salvation from eternal hell.

Lol. Where is it clearly stating our salvation is salvation from hell?. The bolded is not scripture, it is the doctrine of men.
The wrath of a God is nothing more than a condemned conscience, which is lifted when Christ makes himself known to you that God is not holding your sin against you, so come out of your condemnation into the glorious liberty of being and knowing you are reconciled to God. One thing is for certain then, you will stop calling yourself and others wicked sinners deserving of eternal hell, which is the confession of those who do not know the salvation of God.

Since I've read this three times and still can't interpret "vizio speak" can you give us a fuller explanation of what you're trying to say? An in-context definition of "warm fuzzies" would be helpful.

Yes, the Bible teaches we are saved from the wrath of God.
"But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him."
You can tell these things to certain posters dozens of times, and they will always come back as if they never heard it before.

When the wrath of God was on you. What was it like ?.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them
