Do we have to be told that it's okay to celebrate something? Does the Bible condemn the comemmoration of good things in our lives? Have we been told not to rejoice in the fact that God gave us a Savior?
Why do you think Ecclesiastes 7 v 1 B says the day of death is better than the day of ones birth ?
It was Not that it was wrong to rejoice at one's birth [ Psalm 127 v 3 ], however, a new born has Not made a name for himself. No one knows if he will have a good name or not. By the time of one's death he has made a name for himself. A good name would be a good reason to rejoice about that one having a good name.
At his death Jesus made a good name for himself with God. That is a good reason to keep the one and only celebratory command of Luke 22 v 19 to remember the anniversary of Jesus' death. On the Jewish Lunar calender that date is the month of Nisan, day 14.
In the church history I am taking it says then when the early Christians went out to evangelize the Pope instructed them not to try to take away Pagan holidays but to match them to Christian observances.
The Pagans celebrated the winter solstice so the church chose that time to celebrate Christ's birth. They taught the Pagans and others about Jesus and celebrated His birth when the Pagans converted. The sun became the Son.
It is a better way to win converts. Muslims converted by burning down other religions holy places and forbidding them to ever mention their observances again.
Let us proclaim Truth. God said His "Way" is His 7 appointed times for His "Called Out" ones: Passover, Unleavened Bread, FirstFruits, Shabua, Trumpets, Reconciliations, and the Feast of Tabernacles. Of course the Savior 'tabernacled' with us on the first day of Tabernacles in 2 BCE. Why do you think we will be celebrating God's Feasts during the Millennium? Do you think God's calendar matters? He certainly does. Ever read introtogod.org, yadayah.com, or questioningpaul.com ?
Very worthwhile read.

I don't read anything written by Craig Winn.
From Questioning Paul Review A Look at the Galatians TextStephen Walch
Quote:
What else is there left to say? Having gone through how Craig Winn has rendered the text of
Galatians in Questioning Paul, I can only wonder one thing: how on earth are people convinced that his comments on how he renders the text are even remotely true? Contrary to Craig Winn’s claims, the Greek of the Galatians letter isn't “terribleâ€: what’s terrible is Questioning Paul's inability to even understand what the rules of Greek grammar are. They are routinely ignored, and then Questioning Paul audaciously attacks the Greek of Galatians saying it’s “badâ€, when in actuality, it’s not. Questioning Paul appears to think that Greek works like English: it doesn't, and it’s less than amateurish (and downright illogical) to think that it does.
If anyone who has read Questioning Paul is reading this, I have to ask you this: did you even bother to check that Questioning Paul had done an accurate job of rendering the Greek text? How about the Hebrew rendering in Questioning Paul, did you check them as well? We know a lot more about
Greek than we do about Hebrew, and if the rendering of the Greek text in Questioning Paul is
anything to go by, then the Hebrew is going to be a lot worse.
Questioning Paul's textual renditions are wrong; therefore, the commentary is also wrong, and far from trustworthy. We are told to “examine, test, scrutinize and determine the genuineness†of people’s words.I have done that here for you; and have found Questioning Paul's words to completely fail the test.
So, does that make Paul trustworthy, or does Paul annul the Torah? Does Paul suggest that we abandon the 7 Called-Out Assembly Meetings? Does Paul suggest that one can be part of the Covenant without circumcision? Does James/Ya'acob refute Paul? Does Habukkuk 2 refute Paul?

Since Pentecost the calender for Christians is that there is No 7 appointed times. - Colossians 2 v 16
Jesus set up only 1 appointed time at Luke 22 v 19 which was the anniversary of his death replacing Passover.
Where does it say the feasts under the former Constitution of the Mosaic law would be observed during the Millennium ?
- Romans 10 v 4
Jesus was NOT born on the 25th of December. There's nowhere in the bible where it said that he was. People just say that, so they can have a reason for celebrating on that particular day.
