My daughter is going through first communion classes. The pastor has asked the parents to write a blessing inside the front cover of the children's bibles that we will read aloud to the children. I remember when I did this for my boys, and when we read them aloud mine seemed so out of place. I never had to do this growing up, wasn't taught how, and I could really use some advice, tips, or examples!

Write what comes from your own heart and don't worry about pleasing or competing with the other written blessings

As a Catholic, praying "off the cuff" doesn't come natural. There are so many "standard" prayers for just about any occasion. But about 5 years ago, I decided that I wanted to be able to pray for any occasion at any time without some formal prayer out of a book. It was very difficult at first. Sometimes I would think ahead of time about what I wanted to say so it wouldn't sound stupid. Then, as I did it more and more, I realized that praying is no different then talking to God as if he were here (and He is) in front of us. Just pray out loud about what is on your mind; what you're thankful for; what your needs are (not your wants.) It doesn't have to sound like it came out of a book. And usually, the most moving prayers are not formal.

You'll do fine.

Write about how much you think you've done to the world through prayer, and then how much you've actually done.

Write`` Father God Forgive us our debs, as we forgive our debtors , lead us not into temptation , but deliver us from evil , bring us your spirit for your covenant with you, I repent of my sin to You Lord Jesus I love you Lord Jesus ..```.... This prayer when said to God in a sincere faith will bring confirmation of Baptism to Jesus
