If a baby dies without being baptized he is thrust into limbo and can never ever see God.

That is a lie I said to the nun of the 3rd grade sunday school class I was in; God would never do that to a baby; she walked down to the back of the classroom where I was standing and slapped me right across the face as hard as she could.
I repeated the truth - she slapped me again 7 times. (child abuse).

There is nothing what so ever mentioned or implied in the bible about "limbo" or "purgatory".

False doctrines of mere men!

Baptism is not for little children - It is for adults that want to make an outward statement of "faith" & repent for their sins. Repent = greek - matanoia -"Change your mind".

The "parable" of the prodigal son. His actions didn't change until first he changed his mind!

I've been told by a priest on EWTN TV that it is a mortal sin. I called in once to question the whole mortal/venial sin thing. They volunteered that some things such as that were "more serious". You are not allowed to take communion if you have that sin on your conscience. You MUST go to confession to be forgiven before you can partake.

Go ask your priest....I dare ya.

If it contradicts the Bible, it's not Christianity.

I love anticatholic posts!

As a third grader you knew a lot of theology. You are correct dead unbaptized babies do not go to limbo. That is a lie perpetrated by ignorant people. You were really smart for a 3rd grader. You were so smart as a 3rd grader that the veracity of your story is in question.

You have it backwards, Vizio. If the Bible contradicts Jesus . . . it is NOT Christianity. Jesus is the Living Word of God and He abides with us. We have His Holy Spirit (Comforter) available within our consciousness to guide us to the truth God has "written in our hearts." If we query our hearts in sincerity . . . and do NOT use the "precepts and doctrines of men" in the words "written in ink" to override what is in our hearts . . . we will know what is truly Christian and Christ-like and what is NOT!

The nuns weren't perfect and some were downright mean, just like the teachers in secular schools.

The church now says those babies go to heaven and limbo has gone by the wayside. Not sure why it started but you can do a search on it at EWTN Global Catholic Television Network: Catholic TV, Catholic Radio, and Catholic News

I thought it was more important to find out what a priest thought, not lay persons. A priest should know better why and how confession should be heard and if what was done was right or wrong. He did.

Actually, it would appear that lay persons knew quite well when at least two priests either did not or did not care. What happens when you turn your spiritual well-being over to men?

I think the story of a 3rd grade grader correcting a Nun in theology is unusual. I cannot imagine such a well versed kid in theology at such a young age. Furthermore, he claim he was in Sunday school class a very Protestant term. A Catholic would have said CCD class. It is just more anti-catholic propaganda and goals justify the means.

Actually, I'm glad you took the time to research the link for F. Z's answer. Shows you care about what's going on in some RC churches. Like Z alluded to, maybe the tide will change with younger more active priests entering.
