Madison, WI (AHN) - City officials recently decided that the decorated tree in the Capital Rotunda will be known as the Wisconsin State Christmas Tree, and not a holiday tree.

The 8-1 ruling by the Assembly State Affairs Committee was made in response to a proposal by a state lawmaker, calling for the tree to be known as a Christmas tree, and not a "holiday tree", for which it has been known since 1985.

It's a sad state of affairs when a vote has to be taken, on whether to call it a Christmas tree, or a holiday tree! How politically correct can we get, for pity's sake?! I know, maybe we could decorate them, and call them "Winter Season" trees! Maybe then no one would be "offended".

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. Wasn't Lowe's calling them "family trees" or something ludicrous?

I'm waiting for the day when kids go hunting for "holiday eggs" at Easter.
