The dishonest steward had made friends with people by cutting their debt expecting to have a place when he got fired, which was a shrewd thing to do in the way of the world. So, the master essentially said, "Good thinking, Bye."

The upshot of the parable comes in the sentence: "11So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?"

What is the difference between worldly wealth and true riches?

How do you think the dishonest steward would fare with his "friends?"

So it means his master commended him for being wise. I read something that says that this New Testament story (Luke 16) serves as a charter for crooked accountants. What is meant by that? Thanks

Literally, the man's master clapped the steward on the back and congratulated him on being a smart and shrewd operator. Literally.

Unless you were asking about some deeper message in the Parable?

Indeed it is a charter for those who want to step on others as they gain ascendancy in THIS world! LOTS of people get ahead that way.

Now, once again, what does "11So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?" mean to you?

... even, the dead beat mind has the acuteness or mental capacity to know that there is something special, above all that he does or thinks.

People use dishonest crooks/liars for as long as they think they are benefiting from using them.
