Our Presbyterian church has Matins services every morning this week, Maundy Thursday evening service, Good Friday evening service, and Easter Vigil on Sat. evening. Due to work schedules, we'll probably only be able to attend Thursday evening, and then Easter there are two, very crowded services.

We went to the early Palm Sunday service with the blessing of the palms with Holy Water.

I don't get the feeling the non denominational churches really observe a "Holy Week".

As for the TV news. It just would not sound good to show footage of the methodists celebrating Holy Week. They always show the Pope because he is seen as the leader of the Christendom. Ands in a sense he is!
Hey, Pope Francis is frequently quoted in Homilies at my Presbyterian church! Of course, they also allow a Rabbi to give the Homily once a year too. The Presbyterians love to be ecumenical.

I did give out palms, actually. I preached about how the people would lay them down in front of a coming king...and they did so for Jesus as he rode in on a donkey. He was a peaceful king this time, and he will come back as a conquering king, riding a white horse, per Revelation.

Great! Your Catholic roots are showing. Consider an Easter Vigil on Saturday, that would complete the cycle.

I don't see it happening. There are a lot of other churches besides Catholics that do Good Friday services. I used to attend a fundamentalist Bible church that did. I do recognize, though, that we have a lot of Catholic and Lutheran folks in our area, so I do like to do a more liturgical service on special occasions like Christmas and Easter-- when the non-practicers decide to visit.

For the love of God. I hope you do not use rings in the wedding ceremony. The rings are pagan ALL THE WAY.

Just kidding, we cannot avoid the fact that Christianity copied pagan stuff. I hope you are cool with that.
I recognize completely that there is a lot of things that may have begun with pagan roots. Doing them does not mean that we are Pagans. The early Chrisitans struggled with the idea of eating meat that had been sacrificed to idols. Paul's argument about it was that since those gods don't actuallly exist, we can enjoy the meat in good conscience. Of course, if you can't bring yourself to do it....dont' do it. I won't begrude you that.
