God didn't give Christians a clear revelation in the Bible. Instead, he gave Christians a book that is very open to interpretation, resulting in 10,000 or more Christian denominations.

So I'd say it's the Christian God's fault mainly. He's been asleep at the helm for almost 2,000 years.

"resulting in 10,000 or more Christian denominations." if this is the measurement of truth then how many billions of atheists who can not even agree on any subject in any kind of groups .and none will even submit to any kind of groups .. except they all agree about their hate of God and christianity?
so if we are measuring truth by numbers of people who agree .. atheist have no common truth and just billions of oppionions that contain no truth and is proved by your own measurement stick..

Atheists don't hate God they just don't believe God exists ...... Christians on the other hand believe in God and Jesus but can not agree on the message that they are meant to be giving to the world. Atheists see where Christianity has been and what it has done over the last 2000 years and see how disjointed it is.

Well Christianity is certainly not declining in Africa, parts of Asia and parts of the Middle East. In the future there be more Christians living in Africa than Europe and North America.

"Parts" of Asia and Africa have little to no education, and high amounts of poverty. Which makes them ripe for prey by religions. Desperate people will accept desperate ideas as a defense mechanism. That happened with Christian converts in Rome, early converts were not the educated or the elite, but the desperate and the downtrodden. A person who is that desperate will convert to another religion, and missionaries have long preyed on the poorer and less educated people of Africa and Asia.

Perhaps that is why one day, after the sensible people of Europe and Northern North America ahve stopped seeking religion, people in Africa and Asia will still be desperate enough and uneducated enough to accept it.

Default Christianity in Decline; Is Man Failing God or Is God Failing Man?

Religious leaders are failing because they have retained ancient ignorance and superstition as a sign of faith in God and attempted to excuse or rationalize the primitive memes in the face of massive accumulated knowledge over 2000+ years.

Well Saul (Paul) was well educated and was killing the first Christians, yet when he became Christian he became the greatest missionary in ancient times.

Christianity grew faster during periods of persecution of Christians during Roman times. Anyway these days among the fastest growing areas of Christianity is Iran and people are still being persecuted and killed for their faith. Anyway when the so called progressive West starts really persecuting Christians, it can backfire on them and as a result there be revival of the christian faith in the West.

In a lot of Eastern Europe it backfired as Christianity was suppressed for a few generations as the leaders saw religion was evil and churches closed down, priests were killed or sent to detention camps. Also you could be at risk of being arrested if you professed you are christian in public. However today Eastern Europe has a higher percentage of Christians than Western Europe and today there are a far higher number of Christians today in places such as Russia, Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria than in the 1980s.

This is not necessarily indicative of anything.

Alot of people claimed to be Christians in 1993, but some of these fall away with adversity, because aren't really so.

On the other hand, during the last election many of the rural areas were demonized as deplorable because they were xenophobic, homophobic, sexist, racist (in other words, they won't go along with secular globalism). Russian hacking nothing, many of them as a result of this stuff hid their true leanings in the polls.

In Communist China, the Church was often underground. This did not necessarily mean they were as secular as China claimed. Just that you would not necessarily see them. By contrast, there is now a public church there but the Church is STILL underground, because the public church is actually bought by the state, making there more "Christians" than the total number of Christians.

Is this thrillobyte character still around? I had forgotten him, but now I recall him as one of my leading adversaries in my previous incarnations here. He seemed to have an endless supply of venom toward Christianity. Did he finally spew himself out and disappear? I'm almost wondering if I selected the name Troglodyte this time around in subconscious remembrance of him.

As usual, his OP was comically misinformed. He seemed to think that if he said something, no matter how absurd, it magically became true. Or perhaps he just felt safe with his little audience of mindless lemmings.

Christianity is plummeting like a stone in America? God, I wish it were. Much of "Christianity" in the U.S. has become little more than a right-wing political agenda wrapped in God and the flag. Another large segment, as we see here, cloaks its New Age pabulum in "Christianity" while rejecting the authority of the Bible and core Christian doctrines. I strongly believe that, to a very large extent, much of "Christianity" in America has almost nothing to do with anything Jesus was talking about. Let it plummet!

According to the Religious Self-Identification Survey, the percentage of American adults who self-identify as Christians "plummeted" 10.2% from 1990 to 2008, to a 2008 percentage of a "mere" 76.9%. With the anticipated growth in the Black and Hispanic populations, further "plummeting" seems unlikely. Not that I think that anything like 76.9% of the population is actually Christian in any meaningful sense, mind you.

One heartening reality is that where the "plummeting" actually is occurring is in the denominations and churches that promote a feel-good, tolerance-is-all-that-matters Christianity Lite pseudo-Christianity. Those that emphasize the Bible and the core doctrines are doing fine.

But focusing on the percentages in America is exceedingly parochial. According to a Wikipedia article that seems reasonably thorough, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christ...#United_States, the death of Christianity has been greatly exaggerated:
According to 2011 Pew Research Center survey, there are 2.2 billion Christians around the world in 2010, up from about 600 million in 1910. And according to 2012 Pew Research Center survey, within the next four decades, Christians will remain the world's largest religion; if current trends continue, by 2050 the number of Christians will reach 2.9 billion (or 31.4%).

By 2050, the Christian population is expected to exceed 3 billion. Christians have 2.7 children per woman, which is above replacement level (2.1). According to Pew Research Center study, by 2050 the number of Christians in absolute number is expected to grow to more than double in the next few decades, from 517 million to 1.1 billion in Sub Saharan Africa, from 531 million to 665 million in Latin America and Caribbean, from 287 million to 381 million in Asia, and from 266 million to 287 million in North America.

By 2050, Christianity is expected to remain the majority of population and the largest religious group in Latin America and Caribbean (89%), North America (66%), Europe (65.2%) and Sub Saharan Africa (59%).
Perhaps I'm easily impressed, but in excess of 3,000,000,000 Christians by 2050 sounds rather "un-plummeting" to me. I wish atheists well in their dream of an atheist utopia (would it look more like Stalin's or Mao's?), but I just don't see it happening. As the communists learned (my wife spent the first 37 years of her life in the USSR and the next 17 in a hardline former republic), the religious instinct in humanity simply cannot be eradicated or even effectively suppressed. And since Christianity has the greatest explanatory power of any religion, I don't see it "plummeting" anywhere other than in thrillobyte's dreams.

Nor should it. Statistically, about 93% of all wars are not about religion at all.

https://www.compellingtruth.org/reli...ause-wars.html

Islam with its wars and executions, has managed to cause more violence that the rest of religions combined (nearly 4% just them). And yet, this is nowhere near what despots like Stalin and Lenin have done, to say nothing of wars.

In fact, atheism and secular globalism are deliberately enabling the spread of the 2nd-place winners and silencing any "Islamophobes" that talk about it. This is at least as evil as doing the deed themselves.
