Default Whatever happened to Merry Christmas?

I watch so much TV and I see the slogan "Happy Holidays" and honestly, I cringe when I hear it. Why can't I say Merry Christmas or Happy Chanukah? I would like to wish those people out there who are celebrating Chanukah and Christmas Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah.

There's absolutely no reason you cannot wish someone a Merry Christmas. Say it loudly and say it proudly! I do and do not worry what someone may think of me.

You can say it, you just did I hear it a lot in the stores here. The media is trying to make way too much of it and some people are playing into that. Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah!

I'm an atehist, but I certainly don't get offended if someone wishes me a Merry Christmas. I prefer to say Happy Holidays, but that's just me. So, Happy Holidays everyone!

Well the problem with it is Christ in the name... Which I think is bull... I want to hear Merry Christmas not happy holidays, or good tidings etc.

Thankfully is not an issue where I live, very conservative area. But can imagine saying such an abhorrent phrase as "Merry Christmas" has to be a "badge of courage" for those who live in godless secular areas of the country. I imagine the ACLU has had a big nasty paw in this controversy, and the rest of the cowards lined up behind them, i.e. MSM, big chain businesses and corporations. Is all about political correctness (and money) I guess. Our gift from the gutless wonders of the world....
