Sadly, you don't even look at what the Bible says about salvation! We can't save ourselves -- it took Jesus to save us. And we are to go out and tell everyone!
You STILL have to show yourself approved to be SAVED...can't just walk up to Yeshua drippin in sin think you're gonna get in the door. NO, you will be destroyed...
*Our FREE WILL gives us the opportunity to get our own lives right before he returns. that's what I mean by "saving ones' self".

You better hurry up, "Death is like a thief in the night".

Get this straight, you can't save yourself, oneself, you, I or me.
So let's just use some common sense and logic here. Do you really think the disciples, who spoke Aramaic, called their Master by the English name Jesus?
The name as listed, was Jesus.

Again, common sense, please. The NT was translated from Latin to Greek. Do you really think when the life of Christ was first told they again, used the ENGLISH name of Jesus? They didn't. In the Aramaic they referred to Him as Yeshua the Mashiyach.
DO you actually think the NT was written in Latin? Seriously? They were written in Greek--and they used the Greek variation.
Now...I have no problem with the idea of him being referred to as Yeshua when he walked the earth....but the Bible doesn't say it. And the guy that is ripping into people for believing stuff outside of the Bible is one of them that calls Christ by a name that is not recorded in the NT.

hahaha...oh boy...let me stop you here and give you an FYI....the Bible, when first written was not in Greek....hahaha...the Greeks translated it once they conquered the Israelites and took the spoils of war, which was their Bibles. literally taken from their hands, and translated, so they could understand the Hebrews and how they lived and the HOLY BIBLE was the book they followed. It was already written..and It wasn't written in Greek until the Greeks translated it to Greek.
and FYI. Greece is NOT the "cradle of civilization" as told through the lies of historical scholars.
The Hebrews were way more advanced and civilized before the Greeks took over with war.
This is why Biblical history is imporatant to know. .

Can you cite some references for that?

The OT was written in Hebrew. It was later translated to Greek in the Septuagint so that the Grecian Jews could read it. The NT was written in Greek....because, well...it was the language of the day. There is no evidence that it was written in Hebrew or Latin.
So again...the point is made that nowhere in the Gospels or the Epistles will you read that "Yeshua" did anything.

If Matthew was first written in Hebrew (Note Aramaic and Hebrew are different though very similar languages, and both were spoken and written and some overlap occurs between both) and the balance of the NT in Greek, the name was:
Hebrew: Yeheshua or Yeshua
Greek: Iesous
"Jesus" stems from the Latin Jesu (Heysoo) and was not used IN the Bible when written but is a translation of Latin into English. From Greek we would get the same but from Hebrew it would be Joshua.
Since we (most of us) are using English Jesus would be proper. However he would be correct in saying that Yeshua is the name in Hebrew or Aramaic.
I see the bible as a guideline to living our everyday life. Earthly wants and desires plague this society so easy and take us away from His reading, too many interferences dominate.
We as Christians should come together as the Body of Christ to edify, clarify and sanctify one another as this makes us a Body of One who loves God. We all need help in understanding God's word as we should read it from the heart with the Holy Spirit in mind to grasp the meaning.
