The Scriptures tell us that until they are old enough to understand and make a choice that:
ASV 1 Corinthians 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the brother: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
The terms 'sanctified', 'unclean' and 'holy' in this passage do not refer to salvation.
Will a child who dies at an age too young to have made a conscious, willful rejection of Jesus Christ be taken to be with the Lord?
We don't know. The Scriptures do not tell us.
What we do know is that God is perfectly just and loving and everyone will be treated fairly. You can take from that what you will, but in the end it is not a doctrine that should cause you to stumble or falter in your own walk with God.
What we know from scriptures is that God sends unbelievers to their rightful judgement per their rejection of him and believers are given salvation because of grace first through faith ... not by a choice we make.
The age of a person is not an excuse:
Romans 3:19
Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law,
so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.

It's possible that babies go to hell, of course but the Scripture doesn't specifically teach such a doctrine. What we do know is that there is no excuse for adults to reject God. Even if a person was raised in the woods and never had contact with another person or knew of Christ or the Bible, the general revelation of God bears witness to His glory and cannot be ignored.
KJV 1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
They would be saved as long as they are children and one parent at least is a believer. They will still have to make a personal decision once hey get older,

This does not mean that the unbelieving husband (or the children) are automatically saved, but it does mean that they are treated by God as belonging to the believing spouse, falling under that spouse's "umbrella" of blessing and protection.
We are hard wired to God, but the fanatics who know not God have done a great job of convincing us otherwise. Woe to you bible inerrantists.
