Christ's Christian Universalism Jesus died horrendously because of our barbaric sins (missing the mark in ignorance) to unambiguously demonstrate the True Nature of God.

Current version:
1 Corinthians 15:3 King James Version (KJV)

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
The word translated as for is hyper and is NOT remotely similar to for.
My version of the pertinent phrase using alternate meanings of the words:

apothnēskō hyper hēmōn hamartia
died violently over our missing the mark (barbaric ignorance)

apothnēskō = Violent death
hyper = over
hēmōn hamartia = our missing the mark

Thank you for sharing your belief, Mystic. I believe that Jesus died for our sins.

Sin meaning missing the mark, committing offense against Him, committing wrong, failing to do the right thing

Strongs Greek Lexicon

264. hamartano ham-ar-tan'-o perhaps from 1 (as a negative particle) and the base of 3313; properly, to miss the mark (and so not share in the prize), i.e. (figuratively) to err, especially (morally) to sin:--for your faults, offend, sin, trespass.

266. hamartia ham-ar-tee'-ah from 264; a sin (properly abstract):--offence, sin(-f

missing the true end and scope of our lives which is God, an offense with relation to God with the emphasis on guilt, (Hebrew Greek Key Word Study).

God bless.

The sufferings of Christ were at the hands of men, but nothing shall separate us from the Love of God; not even death.
Love does not acknowledge itself, rather it seeks out what it can do for that of others - even in the midst of pain and suffering.

Shana, thanks for posting the statement of faith. I do not think I have ever read a statement or confession from any of the Universalist denominations. We share many common doctrines!

Do you believe Jesus death was God's plan? Many universalists do not believe it was a plan.

How many Christian universalists have you talked to outside this forum? What constitutes "many" in your mind? Just wondering.
