The forum seems to be dominated by fundamentalist wrath and vengeance Christians who as Ghandi said do not remotely resemble Jesus Christ. The militant atheists seem to be the only other consistent posters. The reduced traffic in the R&S forums may be related to that dominance of the extremes. Aren't there any other loving middle-of-the-roaders like JAA2310?

Do the majority of Christians believe in a wrathful and vengeful God despite the unambiguous demonstration of God's Holy Spirit of agape love by Jesus???? That just seems so oddly incongruous to me. The barbaric blood sacrifice meme is so completely primitive I am astounded it has held sway for so long. Are most people still really that barbaric-minded? That is such a depressing thought.

''Jesus Christ's blood was shed! What exactly do you think can UNDO the forgiveness achieved by the shed blood of Christ on Calvary, JBF????''

Does MysticPhD believe in the blood sacrifice of Jesus or doesn't he? I guess only his hair dresser knows for sure.

It’s because the ones who do not like to be confrontational back down when there is an environmental of conflict

It takes 2 and where there is the one for eternal torment/judgement against those who oppose it battling it out, other people step back

Gandhi hated Christians he did not have any fruit of the spirit, so why should Christians care to what He had to say, still there are many Christians who have the fruit of the spirit of love and charity

Believing that God judges and believing the Bible about eternal punishment does not make a Christian unloving.

I have no doubt it happened and that Jesus reacted to it the way that He did with agape love for even His torturers and murderers. I believe His achievement of perfect agape love in His HUMAN consciousness saved us all from permanent separation from God in OUR human consciousnesses.

I believe Jesus and God knew what they would do to Jesus was inevitable BECAUSE OF our ancestors' ignorance and "sin." I do NOT believe God demanded it as some kind of payment or punishment to appease His NON-EXISTENT wrath and vengeance for ANYTHING. Does that clear it up for you, Michael?

It may not, but accepting eternal punishment for a finite life for ANY REASON whatsoever, is the most unloving attitude I can imagine, Michael.

IMO, the middle of the roader believer and non believer need to team up more often. The fundy/militant think types will call us all sorts of names and label us traitors.

That's when we know we are heading in the right direction.

That is what I suspect accounts for the reduced traffic in the R&S forums.
