There is no absolute proof that there is a God either. If you are writing here as an atheist, I expect that you do not believe it. But you do not know when Matthew wrote it down, nor can you proof that he was not a witness. He lived and was in Jerusalem at that time, this is a fact.

RESPONSE:

Since I was not the one who claimed that the writer of the Gospel of Matthew was the Apostle Matthew, it does not name it's author, and you provide no evidence that it was written in Jerusalem , that is only your assertion for you bear the burden of proof for what you claim is a fact but is disputed by scripture scholars.

From Introduction to Matthew, New American Revised Edition

"The ancient tradition that the author was the disciple and apostle of Jesus named Matthew (see Mt 10:3) is untenable because the gospel is based, in large part, on the Gospel according to Mark (almost all the verses of that gospel have been utilized in this), and it is hardly likely that a companion of Jesus would have followed so extensively an account that came from one who admittedly never had such an association rather than rely on his own memories."

"As for the place where the gospel was composed, a plausible suggestion is that it was Antioch, the capital of the Roman province of Syria. That large and important city had a mixed population of Greek-speaking Gentiles and Jews."

---------
"The Gospel of Matthew is anonymous: the author is not named within the text, and the superscription "according to Matthew" was added some time in the second century."

Harrington, Daniel J. (1991). The Gospel of Matthew. Liturgical Press. ISBN 9780814658031, page 8
Nolland, John (2005). The Gospel of Matthew: A Commentary on the Greek Text. Eerdmans. ISBN 0802823890, page 16

------------
What evidence do you have that the Gospel of Matthew was written by the Apostle Matthew and was written in Jerusalem?

Matthew written by Matthew in Jerusalem - > Subscriptions appearing at the end of Matthew's gospel account in many manuscripts say the account was written about the 8th year after Jesus ascended to heaven. That is Not at variance with Scripture, and Matthew's location would have been in Palestine.

RESPONSE:

Evidence please to prove your assertion. What "subscriptions," ? What manuscripts?

Serious scripture scholars claim what we term the Gospel of Matthew was written about 80 AD contains 95% of the material (often verbatim) found in the Gospel of Mark which was written about 70 AD.

It is unknown where the writer wrote but Antioch seems probable.
