I don'[t see such assumptions. The point remains that the history of European involvement in Africa and the Middle East is one of exploitation. That in some areas it was less harshe than the prior conditions is no excuse.
You're selective in what you choose to highlight. You conveniently forget that it was Christians who fought hard to extinguish the slave trade in Africa –– and slavery in general. And while the record of colonialism in Africa is indeed shameful, never forget that missionaries brought education and medicine to Africa, often at great personal risk.

You are selective in what you present as "Christians." Yes, a very small minority of Christians fought against prevalent attitudes even taught in institutional Christian churches, and they eventually managed to make their views felt in this one important aspect, but the general exploitation continued and is only now being ironed out in areas where the greatest effects have been felt.
Who was it that those particular Christians were fighting against?
Not unless it is written in the doctrine of the religion itself.
I don't care what is written. Just because a sick man wrote "take everybody stuff and kill all their child" doesn't mean you do it. Those kings acted out of greed and power hunger. That is anti-Christian. That's not to say there are not sick Christians that believe that. But that is not the basis of that religion. Period.
This thread belongs in POC or history and not Christianity.
religion involves history itself and your allegation directly involves christianity. it belongs here where people are more adept at the christian religion. so please explaiN to us why you blame the christian religion itself for allegedly screwing up the middle east and africa.
I dont really care about the mongolians or japanese which are just examples to drive a point.

He holds all his "Rip 'Em Off" Crusades in Africa now.
