You either believe in the absolute power and omnipotence of Almighty God, or you don't. You can't claim to believe in Jesus, and not the entire Bible in the same breath. You would have to explain how God and Jesus carefully orchestrated Christs birth, life and death in order to save all men, past, present and future and then... what? Are you suggesting that God orchestrated everything regarding His son, and then was powerless to prevent His message from being perverted? It's completely irrational.
I can just imagine the conversation in heaven...
"Well done, Son," said God. "Now there is a path for all of humanity to enter into our presence here for eternity."
"Yes," said Jesus. "They did everything you needed them to do, including betraying me and crucifying me. Oh, and that water into wine miracle? Amazing."
"Wait, look at that, what are they doing down there?"
"It looks like my teachings were so important they're writing it down and sharing it with others."
"Yeah, but what's
that guy doing over there."
"Oh no! He's changing my words! He will lead millions, possibly billions astray from the truth for all of the rest of time. You need to do something!"
"I'm sorry Son, my hands are tied. I guess we tried. It was a good effort, though. Maybe next time."
