Question: "Why are both Jesus and Satan referred to as the morning star?"

Answer: The first reference to the morning star as an individual is in Isaiah 14:12: “How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!” (NIV). The KJV and NKJV both translate “morning star” as “Lucifer, son of the morning.” It is clear from the rest of the passage that Isaiah is referring to Satan’s fall from heaven (Luke 10:18). So in this case, the morning star refers to Satan. In Revelation 22:16, Jesus unmistakably identifies Himself as the morning star. Why are both Jesus and Satan described as the “morning star”?

you funny christians used your traditions to demonize jesus' title.
'Lucifer' is actually a Latin translation of the Hebrew הֵילֵל - hê·lêl - 'shining one' or 'morning star'. The fact that Jesus refers to Himself as the bright morning star in Revelation 22:16, and that Satan is referred to as 'O star of the morning, son of the dawn!' in Isaiah 14:12 does not in any way 'demonize' Jesus' title.

Christians didn't write Isaiah 14:12 by the way. Isaiah used the description in referring to Satan. Furthermore, angels are called morning stars in Job 38:7 - When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Satan is an order of angelic creation. He is a Cherub.
Excerpt:
Satan, as perhaps the most beautiful creation of God, probably the most powerful of all the angels, was a bright morning star. Jesus, as God incarnate, the Lord of the universe, is THE bright and morning star. Jesus is the most holy and powerful “light” in all the universe. So, while both Jesus and Satan can be described as “bright morning stars,” in no sense is this equating Jesus and Satan.

Yeah satan was a morning star and jesus was a morning star. the only difference is that you used latin on satan. now you cant use latin on jesus because your tradition demonized the word 'lucifer'.

Oh it does! This is a demonstration of how tradition corrupts religion. if you are a protestant you should find this little piece of information very handy! but still i doubt you'd be calling Jesus 'Lucifer' any time soon.

lets use a little latin translation there shall we?

Satan, as perhaps the most beautiful creation of God, probably the most powerful of all the angels, was a bright LUCIFER. Jesus, as God incarnate, the Lord of the universe, is THE bright and LUCIFER. Jesus is the most holy and powerful “light” in all the universe. So, while both Jesus and Satan can be described as “bright LUCIFERs,” in no sense is this equating Jesus and Satan.

I am not equating Jesus and Satan. The traditional demonization of the latin word 'lucifer' is confusing you.

Why do we care what the latin translation is?

I am not confused about the issue at all. It has been explained to you that the descriptive phrase 'morning star' is applied by the Scriptures to both Jesus and Satan. And so has the reason why. The only demonization is being done in your own mind. You started this thread as if you had discovered some great hidden secret which remained hidden until you came along to discover it and bet that no one knew that the title is used both of Jesus and of Satan.
