Please don't get him started. He has the fallback of "I just know". How can you argue with that?

christianity has thousands upon thousands of sects, surely there is one murderous fringe group out there who would defend jesus' honor to the death! its not fair if there is none!

You're right, and dew is wrong. In addition, he's choosing to ignore the point about ridiculing Jesus. Lol, obviously, the fact that no Christians will take up arms to avenge it is something the news media, and every TV show producer, is aware of.

No true follower of Jesus would kill anyone who insulted Him. Pray for them, but never kill them. That was not Jesus' teachings for His followers.

Another who answers with God and/or Jesus didn't command us to do it, instead of that would be wrong to kill anyone for insulting anyone else. I know this has been raised before, but would you do it if Jesus HAD taught it?

Why dont you folks care for Jesus as much as muslims care for the honor of Mohammad?
Probably because most Christians live in countries that allow freedom of expression, so we are not as easily offended as those that live countries that have state-censored newspapers where certain things are forbidden to be said. Also most Christian live in countries that have judicial systems that can be depended on to prosecute the more serious offenses of blasphemy (for example, desecration of a church would be prosecuted as vandalism), so they don't have to take things into their own hands.

Muslims, on the other hand, often come from countries where intolerance is built into the country's government and culture and where violent revenge is a more acceptable response to offense.

In other words, it has more to do with one's country/culture than with one's religion. If the USA and Europe were like, the Middle East, I suspect there would be less contrast.

religion is the single biggest influence on a country's culture. and this is especially true with the islamic faith which was designed to rule over a person's entire way of life unlike other religions out there. which is the reason why muslims are the only faith group on earth that experiences the most difficulty in adapting the concept of freedom of expression.

because rational people understand ... the order of life.

1) You are your brother's keeper (this is true independent of any flag or robe)
2) god (If you believe in one)
3) country (not always pretty, but needed)
4) religion (keep it separated ... or there will be ...trouble)

rational people also understand that god gave us humor and sometime self deprecating humor can be funny as all get out and relieve some angst.

Doesn't matter. No use in answering the question. There's no need to invent controversies.
