Here is the real picture. We may note that Ratzinger was not ordained until 1951. He had just turned 18 when WW2 ended in 1945, making the cropped picture of him in priestly garb immediately suspicious. That is his brother Georg in the picture, also ordained the same day.

No more bovine byproduct, please.

God is one thing and religion is something else.

God is a mystery.

Religion is religion and in religion ANYTHING is possible.

Every religion is valid and they ALL have their own unique aspect. There are no limits to what can be said in religion.

For example men lived to be more than 900 years old and the sky was full of astronomical quantities of water. A man lived in the belly of a fish for three days.

And in Islam men are rewarded with 72 virgins to provide endless pleasure.

And Joseph Smith was a prophet from God.

Religion is full of a lot of things that seem unbelievable, but in religion ANYTHING is possible.

And in Catholicism, the Popes are the successors of Peter. When you think about it succeeding Peter is rather bland when compared to ALL the other fantastic stuff in other religions.

You are absolutely correct. There is no evidence of Peter being the leader of the church or Rome at all. Peter was most likely dragged from Antioch in chains to Rome unerd to orders of Nero in his roundup of Christians in 65 or so. Clement was the best known leader of the Roman churchin those days.

Lets just say that the first several popes on the list are fiction. Some scholars claim that the first "pope" was Leo in 400 or so.

As someone raised strict Catholic, it has been difficult for me to accept the revision of history. Yet I know from my own reading that the revision of history occurs throughout history.

So you are saying your religion is just a myth and you don't know if there is even a god in the first place?

Straw Man Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not say Catholicism was a myth. I just said it is a religion and in religion some things are presumed to be rather unbelievable----in other words anything is possible.

But, as Christians religions go----Catholicism has the most pedigree.

This was too good not to share. Someone shared it with me so I passed it along for all to enjoy.
