I guess she took the main female and male characters and turned them into the female and male character in her books, then threw in mommy porn with a lot of DSM thrown in.

Hmm. Having read the first Twilight book, and knowing what the 50 Shades book is about, I'm having trouble seeing that. Actually, I take that back, thinking now about Twilight. Bella was submissive, to the point I wanted to slap the author. Interesting.

I haven't read those books or seen the movies either but I have read some people think that. Most female characters now are powerful but Bella is a huge wimp who needs to be saved all the time.

YES. I only read the first one, but that was what I took away from it. My original post stands. Girls need to be taught their value period, no matter what goofy book or movie is out there.

I agree, plus I am glad some men chimed in about it. If a girl has a strong father she is less likely to end up in an abusive situation, that is if she has a good father who treats her mother right.

Betcha there are more uptight religious prudes that dream of being sexually dominated so they can experience the kind of wild sex what they only read about but with the saving grace of having been 'forced' so they can remain mentally chaste .

Well that is disgusting. Anyone who thinks being sexually dominated is a turn on has a problem. Couples might role play but when you get into the really rough, need to be humiliated, that is when the person needs to consult a mental health professional. This book said the lead character is really bent mentally.

Yeah, repression can do that to a person.

What some think is repression others think is freedom from an addiction.
